Post ko na lang dito since ayoko na magstart ng "Bull Bar" Thread

Not sure if these are still allowed locally by LTO.

Pero nung 90's, may bull bars yung isa naming FX (bought 2nd hand) and ang laking bagay nya nung binangga ako sa likod while on a red light...

Video is not the same as the "bull bars" we have locally...

from an explanation i read some time back,
the writer said that the bullbar may nullify whatever safety features the stock vehicle was designed with.
i fear for the pedestrian and the other vehicle...

but there is a difference between "illegal" and "of poor judgement".

some vehicles are designed to "give", in case of head-on collision.
it can diffuse the potential injury to both driver/passenger, and to the pedestrian.
yes, a bullbar may spare the vehicle from further damage ($!),
but knowing just how expensive hospitalization for a broken bone can be ($$$!!),
i figure, fixing the vehicle several times is still cheaper than that hospitalization.

Nice video! Big difference nga ng properly developed and tested bull bars that have energy absorbing zones and designed to work with vehicle airbags vs gawa-gawa lang.

I almost kitted my recently sold ranger raptor with a thai made steel bumper. Im no engineer but I notice theres no “break points” on those bumpers, unlike the bumpers of our IH trucks.

So basically these bumpers could possibly be damage multipliers.

Even those Australian brands, masyadong matigas din.

The airbag-compliant ARBs AFAIK have crush zones, which is why they got a bad reputation as not being as tough as other brands.

The bumper will crush where those folds are.

    After crashing:

So some people end up wanting the no-crush zone bumpers because they can take a hit with zero deformation, not thinking that those transmit shock (and damage) directly to their car's frame (and their spine).
