i got my brand new civic since 96', my kilometer reading now reached 117k+ its still runs in a superb condition! dapat lang talaga when due for change oil and replace major parts; it must be strictly enforce and shelve extra amount of dough.

just my 2 cents worth advice...

My 95 civic hatchback si 100998 kms today. First 70Tkms nya casa maintained using synthetic motor oil. The rest ako nalang gumagawa but I had the timing belt replaced * 80T but di na sa casa. Still runs like brand new, except for some rattles sa dashboard and panels. Still no rust anywhere.

Its how you maintain the car and how you drive it. My old 94 FX had 170T kms bago nag loose compression but this was driven really hard since pang pasada. Pero yung suspension and body is mint. Yun nga lang after 20 years almost all mechanical repairable parts should have been replaced alerady, as well as all expendables.

    before maybe...

but the new toyotas IMO have almost the same quality as other jap manufacturers...

either their quality is sliding down or the others are catching up fast.
