for me the 100 kph speed limit is already reasonable.
If you need to be somewhere on time, plan ahead and wake up early.
Besides road conditions, length & width in the Phils. is still not up to par for high speed driving.

Kung sa Pilipinas ano man ang speed mo always keep on the rightmost lane.

December 27th, 2005 07:41 PM #33i agree...there's just too many idiots in philippine roads who make the main motorways very dangerous and slow moving. i used to work in sta. rosa while living in alabang. in my daily travel to work, i used the outer lane in most cases with 100~130kph because the inner most lane is full of vehicles that run * a max speed of 70kph.

Speed limit was set to make our hiway safer. Pag ginawang 140 KPH ang limit, baka pati truck, jeepney, owner, buses, and other rolling coffins will test their speed limit which makes the road more dangerous. And lastly, 140 KPH is already uncontrollable speed.

December 27th, 2005 08:13 PM #36If our expressways are not so congested 100-120kph should be fine. But since our roads are not that long, not that smooth and full of slow moving cars that can be considered junk 80kph is safer. Fastest I've ever done was 180kph, but I was the only vehicle on the SLEX at that time as far as the eye can see...

Opinion ko lang po..... at saka na po tayo mag-asam ng mas mataas na speed limit kapag mahaba na po ang kalsadang pagpapatakbuhan natin..... as it is mukhang less than 30kms lang yata ang mga highways natin. Isa pa pong opinion ko..... yung minimum speed limit muna ang itaas natin from 60 to 80km/h.

Gawing stringent ang licensing, motor vehicle inspections (kahit up to the relatively lousy U.S. standards lang, no need to be like UK or Japan), and enforcement so we can all travel at high speed.
