Pinagpipilian namin ngayon vios and city. Nagulat ako wala pala normal temperature gauge na you will see if nasa normal pa or malapit na magoverheat. Ganun na pala kotse ngayon na 1.3 liters and below walang temp gauge?

So paano nyo matatancha if magoverheat na yung car? Meron ba nabibili aftermarket temperature gauge?

    Bili ka ng scangauge II.
Swak na swak. May real time FC meter pa.
Parang USB plug and play lng.

Per my experience with cars today, as long as you maintain it properly there's really no issue with overheating. There's an idiot light to warn you if the car is overheating and other than that, i don't see need for a temp gauge unless you plan to do some modifications to the car.

My guess also is that just as with the speedometers and fuel gauges of cars, the overheat idiot lights are programmed to trigger earlier, just as the engine approaches the overheat range, and not when the engine actually overheats. IMO, it should not be a deal breaker really.

Most if not all new cars have OBD II standard sockets. Since scangauge reads the car's computer it should be very accurate.

I'm assuming when the Vios' idiot light turns on it also activates its warning buzzer. So far I've found out the buzzer activates anytime there's a red light on the dash and the car has moved a few meters. Proven with the seatbelt and handbrake

^^^ Oo nga, for properly maintained cars, there should be no issue with overheating.

I've been driving a couple of cars over that past 8 years na walang temp gauge... Ilaw na lang na warning for cold engine and overheating engine....

    Walang problema....

    vinj,

Importante yung sinabi mo "maintain it properly"

There was a Volvo concept where the hood/bonnet can only be opened by the casa. It was intended for people who just get in and drive. It still requires the owner to visit the casa regularly though.

Point is: proper and regular maintenance goes a long way. Even a Rolls Royce will die if not properly maintained. And keep the cooling system stock. I heard of a bnew Vios overheating because the owner thought an aftermarket rad cap looked cool and replaced his stock cap.

One example is the Ford Explorer.

Nothing beats monitoring your own vehicle yourself.

Apparently, most automakers think the public is so stupid that they don't look at their gauges anymore.

It's ok when the car is new. But if you are driving a 1994 vehicle like mine, you'd really appreciate being able to monitor the extra parameters. I have speed, rpm, fuel, temp, volts, oil pressure, and turbo boost gauges that I can glance onto just to check what's going on while I'm driving.

Yep, get a scan gauge (I think jedi sells them) and get into the habit of monitoring your vehicle functions. It can potentially save you and your car from bigger and more expensive problems.

But i still say that they should have at least kept temp gauges as standard.

What if for 15 years na sayo pa rin yung sasakyan.

Huh! Pati jazz wala din. Kakaloka. Buti pa yung FD and CRV3 meron.

Bumili din ako ng voltmeter at vacuum gauge to go along with it.

Pati grand livina wala din temp gauge, warning light lang red(hot) at blue(cold). Kapag walang ilaw normal operating temp.

Eh yung blinking light paano mo matatancha.
