Pinagpipilian namin ngayon vios and city. Nagulat ako wala pala normal temperature gauge na you will see if nasa normal pa or malapit na magoverheat. Ganun na pala kotse ngayon na 1.3 liters and below walang temp gauge?

So paano nyo matatancha if magoverheat na yung car? Meron ba nabibili aftermarket temperature gauge?

    Bili ka ng scangauge II.
Swak na swak. May real time FC meter pa.
Kakabit mo lng sa OBD port sa baba ng steering wheel mo. Parang USB plug and play lng.

Per my experience with cars today, as long as you maintain it properly there's really no issue with overheating. There's an idiot light to warn you if the car is overheating and other than that, i don't see need for a temp gauge unless you plan to do some modifications to the car.

My guess also is that just as with the speedometers and fuel gauges of cars, the overheat idiot lights are programmed to trigger earlier, just as the engine approaches the overheat range, and not when the engine actually overheats. IMO, it should not be a deal breaker really.

Most if not all new cars have OBD II standard sockets. Since scangauge reads the car's computer it should be very accurate.

I'm assuming when the Vios' idiot light turns on it also activates its warning buzzer. So far I've found out the buzzer activates anytime there's a red light on the dash and the car has moved a few meters. Proven with the seatbelt and handbrake

    vinj,

Importante yung sinabi mo "maintain it properly"

There was a Volvo concept where the hood/bonnet can only be opened by the casa. It was intended for people who just get in and drive. It still requires the owner to visit the casa regularly though.

Point is: proper and regular maintenance goes a long way. Even a Rolls Royce will die if not properly maintained. And keep the cooling system stock. I heard of a bnew Vios overheating because the owner thought an aftermarket rad cap looked cool and replaced his stock cap.

^^^ Oo nga, for properly maintained cars, there should be no issue with overheating.

I've been driving a couple of cars over that past 8 years na walang temp gauge... Ilaw na lang na warning for cold engine and overheating engine....

    Walang problema....

curious lang kung may available din kaya na electronic oil pressure gage along with the oil pressure sender sa concorde gamol?

IMHO, i still prefer the basic commodities with respect to gages. kung may absent, modify ko na lang. gaya ng ginagawa ko sa pickup ko kahit na luma na. voltmeter, boost, at oil pressure.

hep hep hep..... on the Suzuki Alto 0.8 and Chery QQ 1.1 they have a temperature gauge,

for the Vios, I guess, you can buy an temperature at your nearest auto supply to install at your Vios, afaik, it's only worth 100 pesos yun mga kinakabit na gauge sa jeep, ganun, be sure to mount it properly, yung nagddrive kasi ng taxi vios na kakilala ganon ang ginawa niya, or just go to trusted auto shop like speedlab, autoline, autolab etc.. and let them install defy or apex temperature gauges for your vios yun nga lang medyo pricey yung mga ganitong gauges compared to thos china made gauges sa tabi-tabing auto supply. Maganda naman

Tinitipid kasi, yung vios nga brand new lumalabas ng walang ac filter, 900 lang yun pinagkakait pa. I think they strip it down to the very basic para may benta pa sila after the car sale.

yung gamit ni erpats na toyota 1.3 vios/yaris wala ng temp gauge
eh wala tachometer pang kaya kapag malayuan byahe

I agree with Vinj. Same concept lang as the oil pressure gauge. My car had it stock for years but I didn't really use it so I just changed to the oil pressure switch paired with the indicator light. As long as you maintain your oil levels and change it regularly, your car will be ok. Same as the coolant, if you religiously check the level and quality, then your car should be ok. Not all people who drive cars want to go into so much detail, mas magulo pa for them yung gauge reading (yung question na ano yung normal temp reading, half ba o 1/4?)as opposed to a warning light .

It's useful for people who know how to read it.

I've used coolant gauges to diagnose leaks, blown gaskets and the like in the past... even if the needle just barely moves, you know something is happening.

On the racetrack, it allowed me to detect coolant boiling over before it happened... and as I pulled into the pits, that's when the temperature needle swung up past 3/4ths.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
