So are ladder frame based SUV's really better vs unibody frames?

A friend of ours keeps on commenting and bragging about his ladder frame 4x4 SUV that in case of an accident all ladder frames (Pickups, Prados, LC's, Fortuners, Monteros, Everests, etc) are more indestructible vs all the unibody SUV's (Tucson, Pajero, Sequioa, Pilot, CRV, Sta. Fe, etc) that will crumple lang daw because they have proper chassis build.

Thats exactly the point sir. Mas maganda ang energy absorption rate ng unibody, sira ang sasakyan pero safe ang mga tao sa loob hehe. Though ngayon, ladder frames are safe na din, nag catch up na sila sa unibody, a good example is the new Everest. Pero it doesnt sound right na “ladder frame is safer than a unibody”. Ladder frames are just more sturdy for harsh off road conditions, thats it.
