The Explorer will be replaced by an all-new model.
It will use a modified version of the platform currently used by the Taurus/MKS and Flex/MKT.
All-new 2011 Ford Explorer
One of the possible engines that will be made available in the next Explorer is the new 2.0 liter EcoBoost which should produce over 230hp.
This powerplant can be tuned up to an estimated 275hp.
