    how about exotic vegetables?

I challenge everyone to ask for "nattou" when eating at a japanese restaurant. It's fermented soybeans which has a nasty surprise.

    acquired taste yan, masarap.

No offense, pero nasa nagluluto na yan, kung magaling magluto, di mo malalasahan ang pait. (love the wifey!)

Okay, I'll let you in on the secret. After chopping the bitter gourd (ampalaya), wash the pieces gently in a little brine (salt and water). Just enough to get the bitter taste out. Don't overwash, it'll lose its nutrients. And when cooking, do not stir them too often.

I like okra in my sinigang, along with kangkong.

    Lagat ampalaya FTW!!!

    Tsalap tsalap!

I'll take you up on that challenge. Please send my "free round-trip ticket to Japan" to my office address which I'll give to you via PM.

Man, my taste for veggies *is* acquired. When I was a kid (even until college), I absolutely loathed vegetables! Now I'll try almost any food when I trust the one who recommends it.

Before I can't eat okra, ampalaya, sayote at marami pang iba. I grew up liking them.

Now I can eat any veggies. Bring them on!

bamboo shoots eh one of my favorites! pero ang mga hinahalo dun na okra at saluyot, never mind...

masarap ang asparagus ah! lalo na sa mga chinese cusine, the best!
