Anybody here who's using a mini oven? Just bigger than a toaster but not built in like the conventional types. Enough for a whole chicken to roast. What brand are you using? How much? Saw hanabishi at lazada at less than 4k. Anybody got any feedback?

Ps- i am renting my place and built in oven is not an option.

    Electric or gas?

If you're buying one for the sole purpose of roasting chicken/whole meat, you may want to get one with a rottiserie feature. Just imagining that chicken spin and drip....

We have a small Imarflex electric oven at work, thought not big enough to roast a whole chicken. It's used fairly often M-F, seems to have held up well. Please note though, these tend to eat up a lot of electricity.

i'd have to agree with sir dishcom, if you're gonna roast meat, convection cookers(turbo broilers) seem ideal. We used to do a lot of roasting back then -- lechon kawali, litson manok. Good time ^_^

The home shopping channels are hawking so-called air fryers -- i think these are basically turbo broilers, but mostly made of plastic.

no sirs hindi lang roast, i want all the features ng conventional oven: roast/broil, bake, rotiserrie, defrost. Gusto ko ung ability to bake food. Tama si sir badkuk, ung may rotiserrie mismo. baka lang may feedback kayo, something like this, see link. For a little more than the price of a broiler, I think I can do more sa ganito:

Hanabishi HEO-30SS 30L Electric Oven (Black) | Lazada PH

I think pwede brader bagubab. Gusto ko din mag bake ng pastries, pero mostly bake ng savory meals. more on meats, fish, fillets etc. Goal ko is in the next 2 months, pag ipunan ko if my budget permits. What brands have you checked out?

kailangan lang meron kang reliable na oven & meat thermometer. most likely hindi accurate lahat ng control knobs ng mga oven, sa thermometer ka pa rin mag-base then adjust sa control until you hit your desired temp. unless WOLF ang oven mo.

I once won sa raffle something like this. When i saw the 7kw rated power, pinang regalo ko na lang sa kasal. Masmura pa bumili ng kung ano mang luto na kaysa gamitin sa lakas sa kuryente.

I have an Asahi electric table top oven (with rotisseries). Just enough for a whole chicken and even lechon belly (mejo madami na ding belly na nailuto doon). We also sometimes bake simple stuff like cookies, instant cakes, some casserole dishes.

Everyday use would be just for toasting bread or heating left overs. Roasting meat and baking would be during special occasions. Bought it for around Php3K around 4 years ago.

My in-laws recently a bought bigger Hanabishi oven for just Php1,700. Used it during the Xmas season to cook, whatelse, roast chicken and lechon belly.

I think these are worth every centavo if you do not plan to bake on a regular basis. May mga kilala kasi ako (including my in-laws) na bumili ng LPG oven na malaki tapos hindi naman nagagamit. SO GET THE AFFORDABLE ONES FIRST.

We have a very old 3D electric oven at home. Sira na yung mga controls(only UP&DOWN heating will work), but it gets the job done. Recently used for my baked salmon experiments, but usually for reheating food lang. Too small to stuff a whole chicken in, though. Point is, tumagal siya.

BTW, for ovens with rotisserie, the key to not destroying the gear mechanism is by having the roast balanced in the skewer before roasting (just like wheel balancing)

Exactly. You can upgrade later naman to a bigger oven kung talagang kailangan.
Baking is also time consuming. If you are a busy person with other hobbies, then most probabyl you will be using your oven that often.

Mine is used more than the electric stove since 2011. Almost 3 or 4 times a week I eat barbeque drumstick or roast pork, I know that's not healthy, but I would normally follow that up with freshly made smoothie made of fresh spinach, carrot and any greens I can find sa fridge, to lose weight. Now I've cut on the bbq, once a week na lang, and my mini oven is still durable, generic brand pero similar to this below:

    Kmart.com

Kakatamad mag ihaw sa labas eh, malangaw pa.

sir try nyo magroast ng vegetables -- potatoes, carrots, eggplant, bell peppers, onions, garlic. You can stir in a few bits of bacon or sausage to help with meat withdrawal ^_^
