Cheesecake Factory is always a treat...
Not the best of times when we're there a couple of weeks ago.
But nevertheless,- the food was, as always, great....
The kids would always go for Five Guys or Shake Shack....

All three are popular here in our city. There's like 5 Five Guys locations, and one each of Shake Shack and The Cheesecake Factory. The Cheesecake Factory isn't too full at lunch. But, after 5pm? Forget it. The lines are way too long.
I remember my wife asking why I have a cold (stuffy nose). I replied back that it's not a cold. It's the gumbo.![]()

The wife's patented ground beef empanada and crab rangoon. I also want pork on a stick. All three foods require a lot of work though.
It's been a while since I grilled some pork on a stick.

There are empanada recipes floating around on the Internet. But, no matter the recipe, it still takes a lot of work. That's why my wife only makes it for special occasions. I don't know how to make it either. I know it's deep fried (aka not very healthy). I also know the filling consists of ground beef (or ground pork) plus minced ingredients: carrots, potatoes, onions, spices, and oyster sauce.
Champagne mangoes. It's September. So, the supply from Mexico sort of dries up until next year.
It's also been years since I had a coconut center. Dead-looking coconuts actually hide a succulent treat. Of course, I learned it from my good relatives over there....and remembered it with Survivorman.
