Interesting. Red sauce. You know it doesn't have to be tomato sauce or ketchup. It doesn't even have to be related to tomatoes. Of course, that wouldn't stop me from eating it....

But it's palabok for me by a blowout. Not even close. Palabok with fried garlic pieces, sliced hard-boiled egg, chopped green onion, squeezed kalamansi juice. I never tire of it.

Oh yeah. Add also bits of fried pork rinds (my wife uses leftover lechon kawali pieces)

Jollibee's Palabok used to be better... they cheapened up on the ingredients within the past year...

Still... I like it better than Filipino-style Spaghetti... which is too sweet for me.

My favorite Spaghetti variant will always be Italian-style... real tomatoes... real beef... real cheese (not processed)... mhhhmmmmmmmmmm....

But I'm a Palabok boy, through and through...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Either of them can satisfy my palate; I grew up on 'Filipino'-style spaghetti, so it will always remind me of home, and I'm also partial to palabok's appetizing tartness.

But much of the time, tomato pasta talaga ako. My wife is always puzzled why I don't share her gusto for carbonara; sa hindi talaga ako happy sa cream-based sauces eh. Kunsabagay, she finds tomato sauce too sour naman for her taste. :D

Pareho lang. Kung spaghetti basta Makati Supermart cafe. Palabok naman sa Little Quiapo.
