when one puts clean hankie to wet skin or to cover sneeze, bacteria transfer from wet skin or airway, to hankie.
the next time hankie is used, the same bacteria it got from the previous use, will now be inoculated onto the tissue it is used against.

the well-dressed gentleman (o sige, dandy!) may have an un -used hankie appropriately folded and installed into one's coat's chest pocket.
once used, said hankie is then placed deep inside one's pants pocket.
it did not mention just how many more times the hankie may be used, after that.

personally,
i prefer a box of kleenex,
except that it absorbs so little moisture...
