how do you freakin' deal with close or narrow minded people?

It's a family issue she and her parents will have to resolve. Friends can be a help but only to a certain degree and you still have to be careful about getting into situations that's over your head.

pero jj, ok lang yan... lahat naman eh dumadaan sa ganyang situation na nag-cacare ka sa taong gusto mo. yun nga lang kagaya ng sabi ng iba, its a matter of family problem ang meron siya. pero as a friend, stand by her all the time at tulungan mo siya in some other ways.

If it starts interfering greatly with her daily life, and if she starts having suicidal thoughts...

maybe you could talk to her into seeing a psychiatrist. medyo mahirap lang mag convince ng tao na mag consult, though. Samahan mo sya, if needed.

depression and substance abuse are really big problems.
