If it is within specs and the price is good enough, then go for it.

It was what the casa put in. My Sporty's still under warranty so I have to follow their recommendation.

    Not many reviews online.

    Does anybody else use this?

So far the car is running fine. No difference with the oil they used before.

    amsoil is overprice overrated.

It's time once again for my overdue annual oil change for my Altis 2011 2.0V.

Will be trying out this Toyota OEM 5W30 Synthetic motor oil P#08880-10706.

    for the longest time,
i have been using plain mineral oil for my walang-paltos 5000 km oil change on my 2003 altis...
it hasn't yet shown its dislike for the formulation.

    sabi ng isang auto journalist,
what's advantageous with mineral oil, is that one is forced to do 5000 or less km, oil changes.
when one changes oil, all the gunk and minute metal filings, are removed from the engine. this is something those synthetic oils and their longer oil change intervals, can not claim to.

well if you read the manual it says 10k interval for MINERAL oil under normal schedule. so yeah the mfg isn't forcing you to do 5k oci

but i get what you're saying. my intuition says, coz i'm not a tribologist and none of you are, that most people are shooting themselves in the foot by doing extended drain intervals when using their expensive synthetic oils. it's probably better to change more often using cheaper oil

    you're right. it's 10K.
    but i'm old school.
i grew up with 5K oil change.
i can not psych myself up to 10K change intervals, laluna if the oil in the dipstick is already dark-ish at the 5K mark.
besides, some auto writers say that our ncr driving is already severe...

yeah metro manila is definitely severe

when i used to do expressways a lot i ran my mineral oil up to 10k. engine is still alive and well (doesn't burn oil). so the mfg's oci recommendations are correct, which isn't really a surprise haha

and that burning-oil issue with the camry 4AZ-FE engine, also inspires me to err on the safe side... and keep changing oil every 5K km.
