According to Mr. Herbert M. Haber, who is Castrol's product specialist for passenger car oils:

Synthetic Guard provides a stronger film of oil that lubricates the metal surface of the car's engine, providing a thick cover for the moving parts. At the same time, its formula allows the oil's anti-wear properties to function at full efficiency. This acts as a performance booster that protects the engine at medium and high temperatures as well as neutralizes the acids caused by condensation, keeping the engine free from rust.

The new Castrol GTX will protect your engine in any type of condition, whether hot or cold, through weekend and long drives, in stop and go driving and even when it is parked. It will really give your car "round-the-clock protection."

Kung medyo nagtitipid and you want maximum protection for your car, Castrol is the best bet.

Price is P135 per liter and P540 per gallon 8)

Magnatec is sold for P399.75 per liter
monzki, thanks for the info. kala ko kasi comparable sya sa magnatec. I agree na medyo mahal yung magnatec. nakabili ako ng 1200/gal sa cash and carry. so far yun yung nakita kong pinakamura

    sdavis,

Mura yang kuha mo sa Magnatec and I assume yan yung gallon pack ano? Pero kung ako tatanungin mo since 10W40 grade ang Magnatec, I would feed my engine with Shell Helix Plus 10W40 or Mobil1 Super S 10W40 (both are top of the line semi-synthetic oils) di lang cost-effective but performance-proven kasi may mga acquaintances ako who are using said motor oils with odometer reading of 160,000-200,000 kilometers di pa overhauled ang engine and runs like a breeze  now that's proven engine protection! Both motor oils cost P800+ a gallon :D

Next oil change I might shift to Shell Helix Plus kasi recommended oil for my jurassic 12-year old engine is 10W30 or 10W40.

i use havoline energy. kakabili ko lang from glenn10 ng 1 gallon kasi due ako this weekend pa change oil.

recommended ba ang oil flushing, yun bang you also use oil to flush the engine instead of an engine flush? if recommended, how is this done properly and economically?

    gjtech,

If you regularly change your engine's oil, there's no need to use engine flush. 8)

Otherwise, a good oil flushing is recommended (not the ones containing petroleum distillates). For engine flushing, I usually use either ATF or Caltex Power flushing oil  They surely make my engine internals squeaky clean
