    Looks like a gasket inserted between the joints.

    If thats an EGR tube, it could be an improvised blanking plate??

    Yes but normally the edges should not stick out like that. It should be flush with the edges.

    sa tingin ko yan ay improvised blanking plate. Kaya may nakausli kasi yan ang hawakan para isingit between joint.

    Kung egr yan malinaw na nakadisable na ang function ng valve. Short cut remedy baka tamad maglinis ang may-ari kaya mausok ang makina.

    Uhm i did not put it there. Should i complain kung casa me gawa nyan? Me negative effect ba ito?

    if there is actually a slot to insert and move that thing, maybe the original sheet could have been lost or removed intentionally.

    Oh sorry. I don't know that that picture is from your car. Akala ko sa iba yan. Kung egr nga yan ok lang wala naman pasama mangyayari sa makina. Hindi lang gugustuhin ng mga environmentalist kasi ang egr is to minimize NOx emission ng sasakyan.

    usually ginagawa ng mga mekaniko yan to rule out the cause of idle misfire, but it should be temporay only to determine if the egr is causing the misfire. egr is used to reduce the exhaust gas temperature na nag ca-cause ng high NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions.
