If your immediate goal is just to start the engine, I suggest the ff:
1) Drain old gasoline. Replace with fresh/new gas.
2A) If engine is fuel injected, check fuel pump if it is priming fuel. Turn key to ON (not start) and try to hear some hissing sound under the rear seats. Kung may sound, most probably okay pa fuel pump.
A more complicated and messy way is through the hose going to the fuel filter which should shoot gas if key is turned ON.
2B) If engine has carburetor, you can still try the succeeding steps before deciding to overhaul the carb.
3) Check if there is electrical current delivered to the spark plugs. (Google mo na lang easy way to do this).
If you have kuryente sa #3, then good.
4) Replace spark plugs. No sense in testing since luma na yung naka-kabit.
5) If you want, put a tablespoon or two of motor oil through the spark plug hole.
For fuel injected engines, some error codes will appear (check engine light or CEL) prior to starting the engine if there is some problems sa electronics and sensors. Kung wala naman, you can try starting the engine the normal way.
bat naman kasi matatakot.
pag andar ba eh ibyahe agad ng long distance..syempre hindi diba.paandarin muna after na umadar saka i check lahat ng dapat icheck..ano delikado dun....
i think our friend is now well informed [emoji2]

I agree na sana hindi na dapat ni try i-start, but 110% sigurado ako na lahat tayo dito (incuding me) yun din ang unang gagawin.![]()
Yes.
Wag muna I try imaeneho sa daan kasi delikado nga. Even if it does start, hindi mo masasabi what can possibly fail after all those years of neglect. As much as he loves you, I don't think your grandpa (God bless him) would want another family member, or an innocent 3rd party to join him that way. Besides, I'm pretty sure it would honor his memory to TLC his car back to roadworthy condition.

*Basta di frozen ang brakes & yung gulong ok pa. Sigurado ako meron kayong iba pang sasakyan kasi if your family can forget about the existence of a car for over 5 years, it's not the only car in the family...
Car Engine Oil Lubrication Automotive Appreciation - Part 9 - YouTube

You should have not started it in the first place without opening the engine. After 5 long yrs. pretty sure all the lubricating oil in the piston and rings are all dried up. Congrats, you have scratch the cylinder walls of your engine. The oil in the pan are very viscous and you might have only checked what's in the dip stick. Have a mechanic check it.
Good luck and happy DIY

Nobody is bringing it up so I’ll just ask for it... can the OP post a picture of the engine bay?
I’m less worried with the engine being cranked before fluids were changed. Damage, if any, is negligible because there’s hardly any load applied to it and the motor surfaces isn’t totally devoid of oil even after 5 years. Ease up on the fellow and just focus on the elephant in the room.... which is the no-start condition. Don’t get me wrong... the OP should change out the oil eventually, but at this point, it’s not super critical that he does.
I’d check the electrical systems for infestation or critter damage. Injectors may also need cleaning.
Not me...
[emoji16]

Basta, pakita niya dapat agad sa qualified mechanic kung clueless siya on what and what not to do.

Nag-start na ba yung car mo?![]()
same situation here, car is sitting for 2 years. Coming soon change oil, clean sparkplug, buy new battery, put some oil sa sparkplug hole to lubricate the cylinder wall, change/flush the radiator fluid, clean carburetor. Haaaaay dami pa![]()
