January 2nd, 2009 12:07 AM #94Sa Versacool sa Lahug ang authorized dealer sa Cebu sir (naa sa k&n site)... didto ko kapalit... from Cebu pud.. hehe...
Sir you can cross reference the part number from your stock air filter then use the cross reference option sa k&n site.... (this is if you want a drop-in type replacement filter)
or...
tawag lang didto if they have k&n for innova... tel number is 2319634.
pros: (drop-in replacement)
- more air = slight improvement in throttle response = slightly quicker acceleration = slight gain in power..
- possibly the lifetime air filter for your car - with periodic cleaning & reoiling
cons:
- expensive
It's not noisy when at low to mid rpm... however you can hear an "angrier" engine sound at higher rpms.. hehehe... i.e the sound basically does not change that much based on experience
HTH

January 2nd, 2009 07:59 AM #95How much was the K&N? My Innova (G a/t gas) is still under warranty (1120 ODO), will installing K&N void the warranty?
Since you said that it has "slight improvement in throttle response = slightly quicker acceleration = slight gain in power" will that slight improvement, acceleration and power, justify its cost? Or paarte lang ang K&N? Just asking...BTW, thanks

^^in my opinion if you dont change the exhaust and headers and just rely on the k&n air filter alone, power gains will be very minimal and return of investment in terms of fuel saving will be long term. very few people keep their cars beyond 5 years and the cost of the filter itself will not be worth it. since its a drop in filter, you can always take it out and out back the stock filter when you get your car for servicing so as to not void you warranty

January 2nd, 2009 04:21 PM #98+1 to this.
If you are like us sir who plans to keep their car for more than 5 years, (our first vehicle is still with us and is in good running condition considering it is a locally assembled vehicle with overhauled surplus engine ) then it will be practical to have a long lasting filter.
It says on the box that it won't void the warranty of vehicles. But I'm not sure if it applies.

I had a k&n drop in filter installed on my old '02 honda crv, frankly, i didnt get much savings in terms of fuel and i lost low end torque(usefull on city driving). for me its much better to just change the filter more often, its much cheaper and you don't have any washing filter chores to do. but if you're a car keeper, i guess its ok to get a k&n filter as it would last the lifetime of the vehicle.
