Kung wala ka pambili ng K&N, don't bother buying an aftermarket air-filter.

Thinking of getting a drop-in K&n air filter for my car.
but the "maf contamination" issues i always read bothers me,
mostly kasi puro "sabi nila" ang statement, even in international forums.
Ang gusto ko sana malaman ngayon, is anyone in the tsikot community
had engine problems after installing oiled filters, and proven that the cause of the problem
is that the maf sensor of their car was contaminated by the oil from the filter?
first hand experience would be really appreciated.
and those who are running their k&n filter for many years,
especially those who are using them 5years and above continuously,
kamusta naman engines nyo?
running for 4 years na yung KNN drop in filter ko sa GE Jazz. still running fine and no issues.
I think 2 or 3 times na sir. around 36k pa lang natakbo. Pagkabili ko nag knn na kaagad ako.
out of the box ba diretso mo na nilagay yung k&n mo? or
did you hose it down a bit para matanggal yung excess oil?
before mo linisin, kita mo na talaga na madumi na?
and lastly,
kamusta naman sir yung surrounding plastic nung airfilter box mo? wala naman bahid ng oil?
Have had some running issues in the past that we thought were due to oil contamination, but I was using an oiled Simota. And MAF cleaning is as easy as spritzing it with a bottle of Elektra contact cleaner and letting it drip dry. Have had absolutely no issues with K&N, even after re-oiling the filter.
You can sometimes find residue on the inside of the intake pipe, though.
Consensus is... if you clean properly and don't over-oil your K&N, you should be fine.

Ano reason bakit kailangan mag install ng Simota or K&N air filter? Para ba sa HP gain ng Engine or makatipid na hindi na bili ng bili ng stock air filter?
For me, I go for the free-flow cone types to improve top-end (high RPM) breathing. This worked well in some of my cars (especially when i coupled it with a good set of headers) and had no effect on others. Now i just buy the K&N drop-in filter since it's cheaper than replacing my air filter every XXXX kms.
