nuggets123,
is your engine misfiring? does your ignition coil have enough available voltage? remember: available voltage= required voltage+reserve voltage. reserve voltage being at least 20%. if your ignition coil or your distributor cap or your ignition rotor or your spark plug wires are marginal, you need to replace them. on another note, check your fuel pressure regulator if you have electronic fuel ignition. i'm not really familiar with your fuel delivery system, but just check

nuggets,
you can check the integrity of the high voltage side of your ignition by listening to the RFI (radio frequency interference) on amplitude modulation (AM) on you radio. if it gives you a lot of static proportional to the engine speed, then there is a high voltage leak somewhere from the distributor cap, ignition rotor or the spark plug wires. maybe so you are using the wrong type of spark plugs.

November 7th, 2009 02:44 AM #7I just had this problem a few weeks back. Problem was 1 busted high tension wire and an ignition coil. When i changed them, plug started to fire properly. To check if that is the problem, start your car and then remove the high tension wire where the plug is wet. If there is no clicking sound in piston #1 for example, switch high tension wires with your #2, #3, or #4 wires and repeat test to see if piston #1 will give a clicking sound if you remove the newly replaced ht wire. If there is no clicking sound, its your ignition coil. If there is a clicking sound, its your ht wire.

nuggets,
try using a higher output ignition coil. seems like there's not enough juice out of that old and tired ignition coil. imagine an engine with 4 cylinders running at 750 rpm will have turned the ignition coil on and off for 90,000 in an hour. now that's tiring!

November 7th, 2009 06:21 PM #10Sir yung ignition coil is the distributor assembly na rin am I right?
