Bosch oil filters are cheaper than Vic. so if they can match the quality of OEM, and priced lower than Vic, then i think this will be the more economical option.

    hi doc!

the BF7534 is a good fit to the 4m41 according to KCboy

and I can attest to that...

My question now is that do fuel filters differ from oil filters when it comes to fitment?

meaning, as long as it bites the thread well, were good to go? or it does not apply the same principle?

so even though if it fits well as long as its not the same as the one in the cross reference sheet indicating that it does not have the same bite as the OEM, its not good and leaks are imminent?

because I already traveled about 400kms with it and so far I didn't experience anything unnecessary....and its all good...

I just wanted to have your approval on this... thanks doc!

Finally I was able to do a test regarding the So called "fake fleetguard"

sorry Dvldoc but I was just too curious that's why I wasn't able to follow your tips so I used the filter that I was able to source out from the said official distributor of fleet guard(the one in the pics Ive sent to you) regardless of what you said on making it a paper weight....haha!

so with that I have to see it for myself and volunteer my truck to be the guinea pig....its just a good thing that it didn't broke down...hehehe

    So here it is...

I've used the oil filter that was given to me for free by a sales engineer of this company that sells fleetguard 10,000kms ago

here's the pic of the element.

as expected it has a dual filtration media if I can call it that way.

    here's a closer look

Im not sure if how would I judge the filters media....

So please do tell me if I just got lucky that my truck didn't broke down...haha!

and just in case your wondering what I've put in after the guinea pig test....

I didn't take chances anymore and went for the best....:bwahaha:

I just had a minor glitch on it...because the mechanic was a bit hesitant on pressing on it a bit to reach the thread....but with a little force voila! a perfect fit....

and with this flowing on it....

and with that, the RIG is kicking like a young stallion again...=)

All I can say is holly god, look how bad that fake filter is made, Look at the over running glue everywhere. The second half of the filter has some super cheap media that looks like thick cardboard and shows it hardly caught anything compared to the closer spaced media. Also see how the glue is oozing out, that can easily make it's way into your engine. Or worse yet the media blow completly out and not be filtering at all. Either way Pacer should pay attention to this filter as it's clearly not a real Fleetguard and could cause damage to someone's engine. (I'm sure they still follow the thread)

A real Fleetguard would have also been stack disk not just a second filter element like OEM, it should look like the Donaldson equivalent.

Good thing you got that off the vehicle it looks like the glue was breaking down and starting to run out of the filter. This is a prime reason you never run a knock off, you never know what the quality is and the quality of that one is piss poor. Your better off with a VIC than a China clone of any filter.

As far as the fuel filter goes, JS filter shows a different cross reference for the 4m41 but then again they could have a error in there database. Kinda hard to cross it stateside because that engine does not exist here.

But when I search the OEM fuel filter number is ME132525 which equals BF7842. maybe it's only for a certain production year. But if that fits then use it. I am not always right but I do my best to research part numbers as hard as possible. But looks like the older 4m41's use the same filter as the 4d56 and 4m40.

Here are a few other issues with that LF3830 it's not supposed to b a combo/bypass filter it's a full flow which means a single element. The cross for a BD28 for Fleetguard is LF3564 which is a combo filter. So not only did the China fake make a piss poor filter they got the filter element wrong as well.

BTT.. I have a Stanley strap 1/2 drive and a 24pc cup wrenches 1/4 drive, its more convenient for me to use steel belted straps as it has no attachments. If you wanto preserve the can, dont use chain or plier. Even with a grippy bare hands filter should come out - given that the previous person who installed the filter followed the recommended torque (hand-tightened)
been looking for strap wrench everywhere. pati sa Ace, True Value wala. ended up ordering abroad nalang hehe

this is what i got. 2 pcs. rubber strap wrench
