haven't tried yet. aside from kailangan sadyain ang lugar, i believe everyone is still waiting for the latest shipment to arrive.
it seems they've wised up (volmax), increasing the SRP of the filters due to insistent forum demands.
also, majority here have mitsubishi, toyota & honda rides.
the B104 is for my 4JA1, cross for the (BIG size) VIC C-503 oil filter.

Hi dvldoc!
the Baldwin B1446 is the cross for the Vic C-512 (small size), used by crosswinds with M/T and non Turbo models.
my 2003 XUV is a 4JA1(NA, L) variant with A/T, Turbocharger that comes with the BIG size filter.
if ever, will the small type filter not affect or hinder performance of this kind of engine set up/configuration?
This is what i've gathered so far.. My OEM# 8-94167-399-0
crosses with the ff;
ITSUMO 8-94167-399-0
JSAKURA C-503
Baldwin B109
Fleetgrd LF3433

MANN W92180
WIX 51386
BOSCH OM 037 (aka OF 503)
FRAM PH4731
VIC C-503
whilst the small type filter (not designated for my ride)
OEM# 8-94430-983-0
Baldwin B1446
Fleetgrd LF3528

Sir Retz, kilala talaga ang 4JA1 or isuzu engines na malayo ka pa, the gate is opened by the time you reach it. hehehe
beep beep! pasensya na po sa mga kapatid na naka isuzu... hehehe
i don't think anything can be done anymore to lower the dB noise of isuzus. that's why many recommend to set up a GOOOD & LOOOUUUD sound system instead.
:laughbounce:
seriously, i can't tell any major difference at the moment except for tumaas ang idling ko. probably as i said lumuwag luwag ang hinga ng makina
she's still under observation 'cause i replaced my water pump due to a loose bearing na after our office staff borrowed my ride and went to La Union and Baguio. They returned it to me and i noticed my clutch fan was wobbling wildly! and the engine was vibrating abnormally. wala naman akong magawa, hindi ko naman pwede sermonan yung mga humiram. that's life..

Ever hear the phrase size does not matter, The Baldwin B1446 has 3 times the dirt holding capacity over the Vic, They also will have more pleats and 3 times the efficiency rating. So going with the larger filter will make little difference in your oil change intervals if your not going over 12000klm per oil change.
The B106 holds 20.81 grams
The B1446 holds 18.04 grams (has no anti drainback valve) which is not needed if a filter is not mounted upside down.
The flow rating are also close the smaller has 25gpm while the larger has 22gpm so the smaller one actually flows better.
You can stray from OEM recommendations quite a bit, If you do a little back reading you'll see how I explain this. Both these filters will work on your vehicle, having a turbo makes no difference, especially one that only makes 4hp over the stock engine, People keep the same filters when adding a turbo to their current engine.
As long as the sizes is close to the same, the bypass valve is close to the same, in this case they are identical at 20psi you are good to go.
Don't limit yourself with options by only going with the OEM number.Last edited by dvldoc; May 1st, 2012 at 01:34 AM.

guys, this is i guess off topic but i have a theory regarding the production of filters for the asian market versus the american / european market.
as we all know, whoever has not yet put up a production plant (or contractor) in china is being left in the game of production.
the driving purpose is supposedly the lower cost. i estimate 10 chinese workers would cost the same as 3 non-chinese asian workers (filipino, indian, etc) versus 1 american/european worker. are you following me?
with that, to drive costs further down, i suspect that the big producers (american & european) have approved a different (LOoOWER) standard for the asian market / consumers. hence the proliferation of what we know as counterfeit, knock offs or better yet imitations.
we know that singapore is a distribution hub and not a production source. i guess they are in charge of sourcing out production in china, malaysia, thailand etc. wherein with their quest for cost effectiveness for the asian theatre, they have lowered the standards compared to the american & european side.
this would explain the lack of enthusiasm from the headquarters state side in pursuing the complaints lodged to them.
what do you guys think?
