It will all boil down to the ff:
1. Driving style/conditions - vehicles used harder, in stop-and-go conditions, long idling, traffic, short hops require shorter replacement intervals of oils, filters and tune-ups. A mineral blend is better since you cannot take full advantage of the long replacement intervals of synthetics plus the cons of oil seal shrinkage. Older engines tend to be looser and synthetics are very slippery. You may want to use synthetics when driving mostly at highway speeds.
2. Budget - gusto mo pero di kaya ng bulsa. ganun kasimple.
3. Personal preference/experience - self-explanatory.
Peace!!!!

April 13th, 2011 01:35 PM #112So your a half breed!I dont care no matter whats your achievements. You are only lucky being raised on fertile soil, very common. So your not really a certified master mechanic which you claimed. These 80k thing really pissed me off because i read that also on the net about it that Amsoil can do it.You bite that thing which is just a publicity.Who is childish then!

That's downright racistand I for one won't stand for it. I'm surprised the mods haven't banned you already. What's with the hostile attitude? dvldoc has contributed a lot of knowledge on engines on this forum and practically wrote the book on alcohol injection. He's helped a lot of people learn how to properly maintain their rides. How can you say he doesn't have those degrees and certifications? Just because you haven't seen an 80Tkm oil change interval doesn't mean it's not possible. He's posted EOA results etc and so far all we've seen from you are highly opinionated comments. If you're looking for an outlet for whatever it is you're trying to vent out do it somewhere else. :furious:

April 13th, 2011 03:05 PM #117I cant imagine how dagol would look like kapag nagkita sila ni dvldoc.. Ubos siguro ang polgas nito..
Ok na sana ang argument ni dagol minus the personal insults and racist attackts but wala eh, kulang din sa proof.. Simple lang naman ang topic, about good filteration and prolonging engine life. Everybody would benefit having good filter at a cheaper price.. Hindi din naniwala sa 80k oil change interval.. Cummins and delphi are running those engines even past 100k kms, meron pa nga continous/ no downtime oil change..

so sad that one has to defend his character. ayos sana na naging technical ang talakayan kaya lang naiwan na at naging troll-ish ang isang panig. rise above.
thanks dvldoc for the tech knowledge. i take it with a grain of salt otherwise those are damning evidence about OEM filters and such. are you gonna hand the implementation to the shops or do you have a shop in the philippines?

Now you show the world you nothing but a hater and a racist, And yes I am a ASE Certified Master Mech. Went to college for it when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune North Caroline how do you think I have a buisness that deals with cars of ever engine gas and diesel with no knowledge, I'm also a tuner. and I'm African American if you have not noticed. I'm not half anything
. Your what's wrong with the world today my friends grow up. Do you know how many mixed raced people you just offended. Maybe you should try not to post when your drinking you could think a little clearer.
can't think of anything else that could cause this condition except for actually just being this inept.
I have ask you time and time again to state facts to prove me wrong, but you can't. You can do even 80k on Mobil1 or Almost any Sythetic because they do not break down like dino oil. Rotella T6 has already done 100000 Miles with no oil change with engine oil testing to back it up at every 25k miles. You don't have the intellect to be in on this thread so step out.
I posted government studies showing the same thing about extended oil life did you read or comprehend any of that about bypass filtration no you didn't. This is such common knowledge in Fleet service vehicles, Maritime ships, and commercial generators it's not even funny. And got Jack squat to do with Amsoil which I don't use, never will buy, and is over priced.
Anyone ever hear the phrase STUCK ON STUPID.
Time to loose this guy MODS

Well I am doing the filter thing more of a hobby and to give my brother in law a job as a parts runner, will be mainly dealing with shops that do oil changes but of course people can always give me a buzz if they want the hook up, But this is not until way next year when I retire from the navy and move there full time. And once I am sold out I will basically be done with it and move on to something else.
But take full advantage of the shops in Manila that carry these filters, any specific vehicle fit questions feel free to post up.
Anyone with a Fortuner a pic of your filter is much appreciated, just want to see if you can fit a larger one with no issue. Stock one is freaking tiny
Just make sure what you get is real, plenty of fake China clone Fleetguard and Baldwin filters out there, No country of origin on the filter or the ® symbol is a dead give away of a fake.
Bosch is also a good brand filter since it's made by Purolator.who also makes WIX.
Not sure if the Korean version is identicle but our has a semi synthetic media (basically it's treated cellulose)
Of course that might be the only Bosch sold there.
The US version. If you can get the Distance plus filters tha't the premium ones they are the exact same as the Purolator Pure ones and are some of the best on the market.
Malaysia version.
I would pick it over a VIC any day.Last edited by dvldoc; April 13th, 2011 at 09:11 PM.
It's looking a lot like a certain cruiser with that color scheme.
