To me since 10 microns nominal for old school diesels and Gen 2 CRDI engines is a good filter as long as they are 2 to 5 microns absolute. Remember factory is around 40 microns and up,

wow that's a lot a crap going through your injectors and we all know how dirty the diesel is in the Philippines no wonder so many D4D's have so many problem.

Nope no school for me but I'm happy to teach and do car club meets any time. And you can be sure the old devil will not carry any fake filters. Getting out of control here I got to start shipping some of these to my house there soon lol.

It's a shame there are so many fakes sold there but at least most of the man filters for common vehicles can still be found. I had a feeling that was going to be the case when I saw some fakes in Dau at that big hardware surplus market.

I am glad you mentioned the filter heads now that I know this you guys should start looking into remote transmission filters.

I did post it on a different thread but I will put it here to.

    Remote transmission oil filters.

Most vehicles there will use a 3/8" ID or 5/16" hose 5/16 is common on Toyota and Nissan. All you need is a good oil filter and filter head, some trans hose, hose clamps, and mounting bracket.

OK dvldoc I shall give you a challenge!

I am planning to get an isuzu giga 10 wheeler truck with the 6 cylinder engine and I was thinking of doing a remote bypass for the truck - How do I go about it? You think you can help me out sourcing the connections etc etc that I would be needing?

Don't know if it's possible with these, I'm pretty sure most use the large cartridge style filters. But again I don't know what engine you will have.

But here is a list of all the OEM part numbers for oil filters for all heavy duty and asian diesels including the Giga just type in Giga in the pdf search.

This should be more than usefull to get your part numbers to see what kind of filter you have.

This second one is even more helpfull it's Baldwins cross refrence and it has Giga engines (all of them) with the oil, fuel, air, filters listed. But it's a excel spread sheet if this link does not work you can PM me your email address and I will get it to you. But it looks like most of them already use a bypass oil system most heavy equipment does so no need for a remote bypass kit.

If someo could reply back with the correct filter for a Ford WLT 2.5 turbo diesel engine. The one from the Everest and Ranger. I have conflicting data just trying to verify it for my files.

    Thanks

Well my search for the Ranger/Everest filter is still conflicting but in my hunt I checked the Ford club Philippines site and was looking for answers unfortunately the part number did not cross reference up to anything.

But I did find this, Another prime example of the fakes that are out there, you should be very leary of buying from these little small autoparts store especially. Make sure you look out for the obvious,

No country of origin, box that does not look like the normal factory unit, Filter has plastic covering just the bottom. (ONLY) China filters will have this do not buy them your risking your engine.

First was the funny business with the box. Motorcraft will always have the FORD logo on it.

Then there is the filter. Do you see what I see?

Ford dealer in the Philippines purchased oil filter. Notice the FORD logo on the box next to Motorcraft, That will always be present in a real one.

    Now the filter

Fake filters can lead to many vehilce engine failures, a simple thing like a poorly designed anti drain back valve can cause serious wear on start up because there is no oil in the filter.

Poorly designed bypass valve might not open at the right psi or not at all, And knowing all the China fakes they use a filter media that is not even cellulose it's like strait epoxy treated paper and very brittle and becomes clogged easily. Clogged filter with no bypass equal no oil for your engine.

Also a bad bypass can cause sever pressure in the filter and believe me these China knock offs are not rated as high as OEM, If you want to suddenly loose oil pressure due to it bursting feel free to buy them.

It's becoming very clear the market is saturated with Fakes. Buyer beware.
