July 7th, 2009 06:49 PM #15once the car experienced overheating, assume that all engine parts were damaged. An engine was not designed to absorved such heat. I agree that running 1st gear might result to overheating. The thing that you can do is not give business to ford otis anymore. inform all your friends not to send their cars to ford otis.

since they admitted that they have a fault at their recent repair and caused an overheat. that overheat you had inflicted other damages then it is still their responsibility. that is because of their PALPAK na timing belt replacement.

July 8th, 2009 10:47 AM #17paanong mali ang pagkakabit ng timing belt? aside from maluwag at nagskip ang timing, pwede rin siguro na hindi nila nakabit sa water pump. afaik, yung timing belt din nagpapaikot ng water pump. baka kaya nagkaroon din ng pressure sa hoses and radiator mo. IMO

In think its not the wrong installation of the belt but rather the aligning of the timing marks is the problem.
Those are fair points. It is quite early in the game for the Philippines when it comes to EV...
