I haven't done it and don't dare do it, but out of curiosity what happens if you start the engine when the pre-heat indicators is still lighted?

Hindi siya mag start mag redondo lang some times it will start............yun lang po.
I tried it many times when I just learned how to drive, nag sta-start naman. and I also realize one ride of ours, even the indicator in the dash is off, the heater is still heating. I have attach my own light indicator directly to the glow plug.

tidus, is it for the santa fe? how many sec. before the light go out? thanks![]()
normally pag may glow plug it takes a few seconds and sometimes gets even longer depending on the condition of the plugs and/or battery.....the crosswind don't have them. straight start agad.![]()
nothing happens to your engine. the pre-heat is used to help increase the temperature of air/fuel mixture in the chamber for easy combustion coz' diesel engines don't have spark plugs.
if the pre-heat stays too long the glow plug will be busted. diesel engines with very good compression will start even without pre-heating.
Wala naman. YOur heater still works for a couple of seconds after your engine has started. It's just to guarantee a quick start. Observe that during the rest of day you don't really need to wait for lamp to turn off or it just goes off after a second or two.
