Engine Swap/Overhaul where do I shop!

My ride is Tamaraw FX 2c-t engine, sa tingin ko blow by na din ito kasi may usok na sa dip stick at malakas na din ang talsik sa may oil filler cap at maulobs ang oil, meron bang trade-in para naman makabawas ng gastos, mag kano kaya ang magagastos ko dito? my area from south (Alabang)

overhaul na yan...

pwede ka siguro mag trade in ng engine if you are upgrading to a diff engine with a bigger displacement. pero kung same engine trade in to surplus... forget it. what if yung ibigay sayo blow by din or malapit na? mahirap humanap ng "fresh" na diesel engine... most have been used commercially, that is to say, laspag na kaya nga they end up in the surplus shops (unless chop chop stolen).

you can try visiting the toyota cars talk subforum and ask around for their trusted mechanics. maraming kalokohan sa engine overhaul, and a lot of mechanics will literally squeeze you for every centavo and then give you substandard work (blow by nanaman after a couple months, or minutes, of use. yes i am not kidding).

top overhaul... nah. blowby comes from gases escaping from loose compression. when you do a full overhaul, use piston liners and original piston rings. try not to use oversized rings with just bored-out cylinders... sira rin agad yan.

when looking for a surplus engine, atleast e-pa andar mo before mo kunin.
it should cost somewhere near 20k

kung overhaul. don't forget the right valve clearance setting. setting the valve clearance requires a machine shop says our fellow tsikoteer who had once own a 2ct. meaning, there is no such thing as salpak then tune-up method.

thanks guys, till now undicided pa din maganda ang overhual sure na bago ang parts, pero ang kailangan ay magaling na mekaniko, kung surplus hirap humanap ng fresh...but I'm still waiting till next year, maybe there someone can recomend a good mechanic na within sa area namin......know how to overhaul or choose a better surplus engine.
