Usual po yan pag masyadong matagal change oil intervals at long oil use. Which will eat away all sludges pero i wouldn't recommend this as it will shorten the life of your engine also. Yun mga rubber parts titigas with diesel flushing.

Sir all you need is to clean your whole engine to get rid of all the sludge inside and you can only do that if you will open it up to know what needs to be done. Compression test will not solve your problem. If the mechanic can carefully remove the gasket maybe you will just buy what gasket is needed not all of it. Unless you know what is inside your engine and the extent of any damage if there are.

If you have called our mechanic Domeng then you will know the full report kung may dapat palitan after mabuksan yun makina nyo. Yun 10k i presume pambili nang gaskets. Yun mold na sinasabi nya baka na misunderstood nyo sya. Ask him in detail po kung paano gagawin. But i think walang sira sa loob nyan sir

yung change engine at general overhaul hit or miss, kumbaga swertihan.

The whole process takes almost half day to finish. After that they perform flushing and change oil.

September 20th, 2015 02:27 PM #26Mga Sir, sabi ng mechanic better if change oil every at 3500-4000 km para sigurado kasi nga prone to oil sludge itong altis engine. Ano po massuggest nyong oil for my car? Mas okay ba kung fully synthetic pa din gamitin ko or semi synthetic given my car's condition?

September 20th, 2015 02:39 PM #27you can actually use multigrade diesel engine oil that can also be used on gas engines. Check the back side of the eng oil container if the API rating has "SM" or "SN" label, then only then that you can use it on your car. Diesel engine oils contain more detergents than a regular gas engine oil. It is also wise to look at your owner's manual what type of oil your car needs... I also have an 04' 1.6E Altis and I use Mobil 1 0W40 FS oil with baldwin filter but still change my oil every 5K km. No problems so far that Ive seen when I changed the valve cover gasket....

Handa ka din ng regular oil baka kelangan i flush once or twice before ilabas.
Sa altisclubzz may naka experience na nyan mas matindi kasi itinirik talaga sya. Baka mas malala yun pero try searching for ideas and ballpark figure how much money and time.

Glad you opened you engine sir. Enjoy your clean engine. Try to use your car more often like 5k in 3 to 4 months you can use semi synthetic 10w/30 [emoji106]
Sludge build up only if your car is garage queen. Best to use the car as often as you can. I think a 5k km per 3months to max 4 months won't give you sludge problems.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
