I told my SA about the rough idling and engine noise and casa offered to pick up my car again so I told them get it on Monday. My SA will give me an update later. I hope they get to fix it already.

Oh and BTW my Gen 11 seems to have a problem too. I have to wait until my Gen 10 problem is finished. Isa isa lang muna  What the heck is happening to Toyota

I think you should've let another shop check it first, to find out where the casa messed up. Looks like the casa mechanics have adapted the puwede na iyan mentality.

Aircon  Malapit na ata mawala bilib ko sa Toyota

Ang palagay ko blower motor because my Gen 10 had the same problem/symptoms on its second year. Ang problema yung Gen 11 ko 4 mos old pa lang!!!

May umiingay sa aircon saka hilaw yung lamig. Kanina, ang lamig na ng panahon, I had to adjust my temp from 24c to 20c. Nung summer sa 24c nilalamig na ko. So I know something is wrong. Kahit umuulan, nag manual setting ako, kahit 5 out of 7 sa blower hindi nag mist yung auto ko. Kulang talaga sa lamig. Hassle lang talaga kasi linggo linggo nasa Casa na ko! Parang akong nagaalaga ng 10+ yr old car.

That was my plan. But when casa offered to pick up my car again, pumayag na ko. Sila naman kasi sumira e. I said I don't like to pay for anything. I assume they will fix it for free (kahit out of warranty)

I had to get it redone properly with the engine left to cool down to room temp first. The valve cover gasket should have no effect at all, unless there is a tear where oil or air leaks out.
I think newer cars no longer need valve adjustment.

    *cathy,

Bring it back asap. Probably just a vacuum leak. But still hassle nga yan for a relatively new car.

What is the engine model and family? It helps to know the design, layout and architecture to make the analysis of the problem

    TOYOTA: News Releases

Tokyo — TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today that Tianjin FAW Toyota Engine Co., Ltd. (TFTE), a joint venture established with the China FAW Group Corporation (FAW), will hold a line-off ceremony on April 23 to mark the official start of production at its Plant No. 2.

Approximately 100 people are expected to attend the ceremony, including FAW Vice President Jin Yi and TMC Executive Vice President Yoshimi Inaba (who is also TFTE vice chairman), Managing Officer Akira Sasaki, as well as Tianjin City government officials and representatives of the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone.

TFTE's Plant No. 2 has an annual production capacity of 220,000 units and will be responsible for manufacturing the ZR 1.6/1.8-liter engines used in the new Corolla to be produced at Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (TFTM) from mid-2007. The ZR engine features Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent), which offers not only superior driving performance but also world-class environmental performance, including excellent fuel efficiency. When production starts at Plant No. 2, it will be the first time the ZR engine has been manufactured overseas. Approximately 270 million U.S. dollars were invested in construction of the new plant.

Established in 1996, TFTE began production of A engines at its Plant No. 1 in 1998. Currently, TFTE manufactures A engines, ZZ engines and SZ engines, producing a total of 184,000 units in 2006.

    or is it the 3ZZ?

locally the 10th gen corolla has the same engine as the 9th gen Corolla

it was only in late 2011 that they introduced the 10th gen corolla with the 1ZR-FE

I just got a call from casa! Good news because I will not pay anything and they will charge it to warranty even if my warranty expired last year! Customer service is top notch

These are the things they did:

    1. Cleaned the throttle body
    2. Replace valve cover gasket
    3. Replace the oil something (not filter e)

They are still waiting for the parts so I told them they can keep the car with them for as long as they want basta they get to fix the issue. I hope this fixes it.
