when did you last overhauled and when did the problem start?
let's put the newly overhauled to the test by re-routing your positive crank ventilation to a can with ventilation. close your air intake inlet. drive for a week or two. measure how much oil has been catched in your can.
PCV sometimes is called Oil breather by other people, which is not really called. PCV is attached to the intake with a small hose.
I couldn't find a good pic of 2ct, but this worn out 2ct.
there are two versions of 2ct, the other which has the vac pump on the top, not with the alternator. but I could not get a hold of a pic.Last edited by rion; June 15th, 2008 at 10:00 PM.

question .. if you say overhauled , did your mech send the block into the machine shop or they just cleaned it and put new rings in there? possibility is they tried to fit oversized rings and trimmed them to compensate but trimming makes the rings not perfectly round that results into a blowby right after the overhaul.
cyl leakdown test will confirm this issue . hope this helps

you can open the oil cap while the engine at idle and see how much blow does it make.
and also, even for just a day, malalaman mo na kaagad yung consumption nya. you can use a plastic shampoo or anything that can catch oil with holes for ventilation. basta yung hose, deretcho pababa sa catcher.
naisip ko lang pa-anu kung madami ang lumabas anu ang indication nito sa engine, at pa-anu kung kunti lang din naman...
sorry, couldn't give you specifics. maraming possibilities kasi eh. it's hard to guess and speculate.

June 29th, 2008 03:50 PM #18if you know there is a leak start there and work your way backwards till you know what is causing it.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
