September 1st, 2015 11:18 AM #4003We went to La union this weekend, few days before that i changed my oil to motul and tried a different vicosity, thicker than the recomended 5w30, just a precaution, i know i was driving in the 3k-6k rpm most of the time....oil temp never went up above 103 C, added a can of ceratec...just to be on the safe side

Grp3 or grp4 base oils dont matter much nowadays. These discussions died years ago in bobistheoilguyforums. Most oils have good additive packages that meet most manufacturer requirements. Simply following recommended oil changes and engine requirements are the common discussion now. New topics now are direct injection engines and fuel dillution and ecoboost stuff.

So hard to backread, I'll just ask tsikot gurus directly. If a vehicle uses synthetic oil, then it should be synthetic all the way? I cannot go back to mineral oil? if the answer is a big NO then i'm good. If I can go back then my next question would be is there a detrimental effect when I switch back to mineral. thanks!,
