Yep, that's me.
Like in one of my previous post po sir, sa akin lang po yun at not to be taken as gospel. I want to do it because I want to. Otherwise, once my family starts using the car, then of course as per what the manual states.

Yeah, like the article I read somewhere.. the more visits you make to the dealership, the more chances they have to sell you more products/services you don't need.
Sakto rin si midnytwarrior that the SA or Service Advisor has transitioned to Sales Advisor. Malaki ata ang incentive ng X-1R additives

pwede naman i-extend talaga oil change interval, pero sa mga data i have read sa mga trucking at engine forums abroad, where the fleets conducts oil testing programs, after the 10,000km mark, for every additional 5,000kms after 10,000 kms, the engine wear metals doubles. after 10,000kms the increase in wear metal particles becomes exponential.
it becomes like double jeopardy, wherein you increase the interval with the incentive of saving money, but the risk of wear becomes very high, up until a point its already not worth the risk.
the driving conditions here in the country is punishing to any oil. hot climate most of the year, heavy traffic, stop and go, lots of idling, short distances traveled from time of start etc.

After 10,000 kms ibang usapan na.

Unnecessary expenses that resulted from scare tactics of dealers and lube shops. Impossible din walang improvements sa engine oils para withstand stress ng severe driving conditions. Just follow manufacturer specified intervals and you'll be fine.
