On my 7000 km using zic up plus valvoline oil filter on my gasoline engine, i say the oil color is still good and still no sandy feeling.
^ hi sir, got it from dvldoc when he was selling his oil filter collections here in the philippines.
15w40. Kamusta naman ang performance? Balak ko sana ilagay sa 4m40 at 4m41 namin
260-300/quart. depende sa auto supply.

I don't think Delo 400 can last until 10,000 kms OCI. We used it with BD28 and the mechanic says its "burnt" or has noticeably degraded lubricating properties based on what he felt from the dip stick. Current mileage is 8,5xx from oil change.
We are going to try Rimula R3X based on miko's post. Roughly 137/liter for a 20li/pail. Its 202/liter from a gallon pitcher at the shell station.
Mobil 1 Delvac MX is 245/li

We also bring our vehicles to the casa for its PMS every six months.
For our Honda Civic, I always buy in advance the oil filter since they (Honda) charges corkage whenever I bring them the oil that I want to use. I do DIY oil change 1 day before I bring the car for its PMS. That way, Honda can still check if I the oil filter and drain bolts have leaks.
Regarding the the oil change interval, if you use good quality oil like Torco in your Dmax, I believe it wont have problems if you extend it to 10,000 kms. On the other hand, Casa "fully synthetic" oils are usually group 3 motor oils, which is actually made using mineral base oil. I wouldn't be so comfortable extending its life to 10,000 kms. Maybe you can do the test when you place a drop of oil and feel if it has grit on it. Rule of thumb they say that when you feel grit or particulates in the oil, it's time for an oil change.
Actually sir, I really wanna try Speedyfix and use Royal Purple oil since I have heard a lot of good reviews on it, but they are so far from our place as compared to Honda Fairview and Isuzu Commonwealth which is less than 8 kms away, 10 to 15 minute drive.
Do you think the Honda VTEC LEV Fully Synthetic SL 5W-40 is a good and quality oil and the Honda OEM oil filter a good filter as compared to Baldwin, etc? For the Torco, if it's a good quality oil and it doesn't have problems reaching 10k kms, how about the oil filter that the dealer uses? I have read that for as long as you use a good quality oil filter and paired it with a good quality oil, you could extend oil change interval.
Thanks for you rule of thumb tip!

Whenever your FC comes down too much, try cleaning your air filter. If after that mejo malakas parin sa sha gas, baka kailangan mo na mag palit ng oil.
Try mo din mag gas up sa sea oil or unioil, euro 4 kasi sila. It will help you keep your engine oil free from contaminants.
Pinalinis namin yun MAF sensor at throttle body * 73K kms odo. Ngayon 76K km na okay parin. Balik sa dating performance.
Yes sir, the oil filters are OEM since I bring them to their respective dealers. I just hope they don't use a rebadge low quality filter and brand it in their name.
For FC, I don't measure it religiously but my Dmax gets a ball park figure of 650 something kms in about 42+ liters, pure city driving. Before I used to gas up in Seaoil but now I transferred to Unioil's Euro IV coz I feel the car responds better, smoother, lesser vibration and accelerates faster. Now that I used Torco, the performance is even better considering my CEL hasn't been fixed for more than a year coz Isuzu Commonwealth for some reason couldn't get to stock an EGR.
For the Civic, I gas up in Seaoil but I feel it gets more mileage if I use the Extreme 97, around 360+ kms as compared to 346 to 350 kms with unleaded.
I am just worried if the oil filters that they use can really withstand 10k oil change intervals considering that I am using fully synthetic oils.

Mam/Sir, I am also using Idemitsu Touring FS 5W40 SM/CF Rated (VTEC LEV counterpart) on our Di-D with OEM oil filter.
Been using the same oil for 2.5 years already starting at 20K (now logged 45K kilometers on the ODO)
Our change interval is every 10k kilometers regardless of months. Tingin ko po, ok naman siya up to 10K interval pero since ours is diesel, mas mabilis lang umitim yung oil due to carbon deposits.
Anyone who has also used this oil?
Thanks!

I have been using Honda VTEC LEV Fully Synthetic SL 5W-40 if I can recall for almost 2 years already but I still do the tune up and change oil every 5k kms.
I also tried bringing it to Shell Don Antonio for an oil change but I didn't like how it performed so I never returned. They used Shell Helix Plus 15W-50. It felt heavier and kinda rough. As usual, I was clueless to oils and oil filters that time so I just let the lady at the desk do the recommendation.
The Dmax is another story. Ever since it was bought, each time I do its PMS, I use the cheapest oil that they use coz I do the PMS every 5k kms. But I thought of giving a fully synthetic oil a try and my impression was "what was I thinking of not using of FS oil on you for more than 4 yrs and and it took 80k kms?"hehe It even felt better coz 80k PMS is a major service so the air & fuel filters were replaced, same with the transmission & brake fluids and they greased the bearings, etc. Then I am using Euro IV diesel. I just haven't felt the oil's full potential yet since my CEL is still lit coz the EGR needs replacement. But I really like how it performs now. It even feels much better.
But after reading this thread, I have learned more on different oils that I should and should not use as compared before wherein I just bring the cars to their respective dealers and then just let the SA do the recommendations. Then the oil filter also came in the picture. At least now I am a bit confident of extending the PMS on both cars by using the oils that I have mentioned and OEM oil filters to at least minimize the cost of doing PMS every 5k kms.
Thanks, guys!
Maybe issuggest ko and others as well is that use an oil that's specifically for Diesel engines. Since sabi nyo nga mabilis umitim yung oil, it would be good kung gagamit kayo ng diesel engine oils with high zddp content then partner it with Baldwin/Fleetguard oil filter para malinis makina nyo. Dami dyan oils recommended by tsikoteers. Backread na lang po.
Used Idemitsu 5w30 before, once. 10k kms din palit regardless of months using OEM oil filter. Now I'm on Caltex DGU + Baldwin combo, brown pa rin yung oil with 4k+ kms ran (Golden Brown ang color ng bagong DGU oil).

Base don the product sheet, recommended siya for both gas and diesel engines.
Here is a link sir: http://www.idemitsu-ils.com.sg/Uploa...W40%20Fsyn.pdf
Talagang mabilis umitim oil kapag diesel engine sir.
Gusto ko sana subukan sir yung Caltex Delo 400 o kaya Petron Rev X All Terrain FS.
BTW sirs, meron ding API CI4 compliant yung Unioil. DLX CI4 yung pangalan niya. May nakagamit na nito?
