Except for heavy duty bring home the bacon type, Isuzu naman.

I was in high school when the Ford Escort RS 1600 and RS 2000 came out with its legendary BDR engine. The last iteration of the RS2000 came with Zakspeed tranny. It was a 5 speed unit and it was state-of-the-art then...

I can still remember those cars being driven in anger down Ortigas Ave...

hehehe... both Isuzu and Mitsu engines have become part of the life of many pinoy. Basta for me, the best engine is the 4D56. It gives me peace of mind and its relatively easy to maintain too! Hope na, its new heir or the CRDi version will make it even more better!

Despite of its oldness, Everyday I witness this 4D56 running in our streets.

A lot of Filipinos are grateful for these marvelous engines... I am one of them.

Sounds like Mercedes-Benz models to me.

As for oldness, Mitsubishi just keeps improving on their engines by just modifying the layout they've come up with many years ago. The 4G63 dates back to the early 90s or even before that. The latest I know is the MIVEC they added to the turbo version of this engine, present in the new Evo 9. Toyota, conversely, comes up with new designs despite keeping a certain engine code. For instance, the 4A-GE has three kinds AFAIK, TVIS, "High-horse" and 20-valve.

are we talking about legendary engines in race cars? hmmm.....

    Kung Van/Utility/Pick-up - 4D56
Pang Trak - Rumor says, matibay talaga ISUZU.
Pang Dyip - Isuzu o Toyota
