August 25th, 2012 12:52 PM #1Hi bros, need your very valuable advice.....I have a '97 camry and its idle seems to be breathing heavily like it inhales and exhales....asked some friends and they told me that it is a cervo problem....went to my favorite mechanic and told me that there are specialist cleaning cervo but went to the place that he recommended but it is already close.....would you recommend any mechanic or technician who specializes in this problem...thanks so much in advance.

hi, im actually experiencing the same problem.. might bring it to Advance Techniques in Pasig on monday for some cleaning..

where is the cervix?
are you talking about the idle air servo or idle air control? periodic cleaning is required on this item together with the throttle body every time you have an engine tuneup done. it only takes cleaning with carburetor cleaner in the throttle body and the idle air control cavity. in time, the oil vapors gunk up on this area clogging and binding these components

August 26th, 2012 08:46 PM #4unless you have a bad or no air filter, then the servo mechanism could be contaminated. you may try a servo repair kit to fix the idle problem. but most of the time, it has to be replaced.
