Agree. Medyo kakatakot mag pa engine wash. Best tip is make sure alam nila ginagawa nila. Based on experience they usually cover the computerbox,alternator. Tas they use spray never stream when washing any part of the engine.
Heres a sample one done by qzone, thats where i have mine done on an annual basis.

personally bihira tayong magpa engine wash every 2 to 3 yrs lang pero sa underwash regular twice a year sabay check na din after wash kung may kinakalawang sa pang-ilalim sabay apply ng rush converter.

Done mine in petron north fairview engine at under wash un pinagawa ko gumamit sila ng gaas to remove un mga build up oils sa ilalim at sa engine the water pressure tapos sinabunan tapos water pressure again tapos to make it dry air pressure until maDRY so far so good naman pina test pa sakin na working at walang problem un car after they clean it less than 400php lang gastos ko kasama na tip nila btw ang maganda dun , ay lifter sila for the under wash and then un gaas is pressure din un ginawa ayun so far no problem naman feeling gumaang un ride ko dahil sa under wash siguro nawala un mga dumi haha

Sir wala ka bang na experience na squeaking sound sa ilalim days after mo magpa under wash?. Ngyari kasi sakin un. Nung dinala ko sa casa nilagyan nila ng lubricant yung ilalim. Natanggal daw yung lubricant dahil sa under wash.

That is the usual procedures naman when undergoing engine and underwash in gas service stations. Tinatakpan/bilutan pa nga nila ng basahan at plastic yung distributor assembly bago nila i-washed engine bay. Then they dry it off with pressurized air. Layo nga lang sa area ko. [emoji4]

ako wala pa naman naging problema sa engine wash. degreaser spray (marami sa diy) at brush lang katapat. dati nag-aalangan din ako na mabasa yung alternator at sensors pero lately di ko na binabalutan ok naman. yung air intake lang tinatakpan ko pero kahit wala na takip, kapag napasukan naman ng konting tubig, dun pa sa air box papasok, punasan na lang bago paandarin. kapag na dry na, konting pahid ng dressing malinis na ulit. normal pressure lang ng garden hose ginagamit ko. here's what i do, palamigin muna makina. spray degreaser the let it soak mga 2mins tapos agitate ng brush. wala akong detailing brush, ang ginagamit ko yung paint brush na puti yung bristles, itinali ko sa 1ft na stick para maabot yung hard to reach areas. kapag madikit yung mga natuyong oil at dumi, spray mo lang ng konti pang degreaser then padaanan ulit ng brush. then hugas na, padaloy lang ng tubig no need na lakasan yung pressure. tapos punas punas na, kung may mga tinakpan ka make sure na tinanggal mo na. then the moment of truth, paandarin mo makina para madaling matuyo, cross your fingers na walang check engine light then kapag natuyo, pahid ng konting dresssing ayos na! i used 303 aerospace protectant o yung meguiar back to black hindi siya shiny. kapag gusto ko ng medyo shiny ay yung penetrating oil ng mitsu casa ginagamit ko sinubukan ko rin yung nabasa ko na diluted na tire black 50:50 sa water ok din pero madaling kumapit ang dumi

Meron and plan ko din pa lubricant un ilalim ko din but dont know where baka casa din

As long as na wala pa kumalkal sa mga wiring harness and elec connectors you don't have to worry cause all factory connectors and terminals are weather tight no need to cover the alternator as long as di mo sya ipapark ng matagal after you wash it kasi kakalawangin yong loob and it will seized

i bought yung degreaser in DIY shop. di ko na matandaan yung name, presyo at size ng container but i think less than 300 petot. bili ka na rin ng spray bottle at brush with long handle para maabot mo yung mga singit singit...

Waxco, wurth, 3M, Abro ang mga brands na nasubukan ko. Maganda naman lahat. Huwag yung mumurahin na Sher something pangalan.

Yes, all wiring connectors in the engine area are weather tight. Mine done by a wash boy, doesn't cover the alternator only the distributor(years ago). As long as he dries it off with air to be done, especially the alternator, it will definitely have no problem.
