Mga ka tsikot! May katanungan lang ako. Kanina kasi habang nagmamaneho ako, nag stop yung makina ko. (4G62B) Familiar yung sound so I was expecting something really bad happened. About 4 or 5 years na rin. That time madami akong karga nun pero ngayon wala naman. Sabi niya RF Engine from Mazda kasi madali hanapin yung parts at in terms of performance okay siya. Eto naman yung mga tanong ko.

-50k yung estimate na magagastos ko for the engine swap. makatarungan na ba yung presyo na yun?
-talaga bang maganda yung RF diesel engine na mazda in terms of torque and power?
-aside from the engine ano pa yung maaring palitan pag nag swap?
-pwede ko ba i trade in yung old engine ko para sa i-swap na makina then mag add na lang ako.
-is changing the engine to a diesel good for the long run pag daily driver yung car?

    TIA

Camshaft or Crankshaft? The camshaft is non-load bearing, so it should not break.

    -

If the crankshaft is shot, then that's an expensive rebuild. Makes more sense to buy a new engine.

How big and how heavy is your jeep? Owner type? Jeepney? Long jeepney?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Camshaft sir. kasi nung pag redondo namin habang walang valve cover, yung valves lang sa piston 1 and 2 yung may action yung 3 at 4 wala. Owner jeep yun at mahaba siya. Sing haba nung Dmax namin. Sabi rin kasi nung mekaniko namin na Diesel parts might be pricey but worthed naman since they're built to last as long maganda yung maintenance. Di ko kasi mabitawan yung jeep because of sentimental value kaya selling it would be the last option.

4G62B ba? Second time a camshaft broke? Peculiar, pero considering the age...

Rather than the RF route, I would first check to see if a 4D56 would bolt up the the 4G62B transmission (as both are Mitsubishi motors), which would lower the cost of swapping significantly. The 4D56 also has the added benefit of widespread parts availability and easy maintenance.

Yes sir. 4G62B yung makina at second time na nangyari. Sabi nga nung mekaniko namin ang weird. But my uncle said consider the age of this engine. baka naghahanap na talaga raw nung kapalit. Pero yung suggestion ninyo sa 4d56 ill ask our mekaniko if possible or need to fabricate adapters for it. Thanks sir sa suggestion.

May nag bigay sa akin ng suggestion earlier this evening. He told me to get the Isuzu C190 from a light elf truck. Its around 25k Php already with a transmission. Any insight on this mga sir?

UP.UP.UP. I own an escape which was swapped from V6 to CD20 (standard, crappy engine). Would it make sense or better if the engine be swapped again to a CD20T (Turbo)? Would it make any difference performance wise?
