Best way to clean carbon build-up is to take the car on the higway or open road and.drive it hard. You dont have to go high speed but making the vehicle reach redline on 1st-2nd-3rd gears with the a/c off helps.

Check also the fuel you use; could be a semI bad load of gas.

On the MAF sensor, that the sensor right after the airbox. If your mileage is already 60K and it hasnt been cleaned then chances are it's dirty. This reads the air inflow and helps calibrate the A-F mixture; during cold starts an engine runs rich on the AF mix and the detonation means you might be running lean on the cold start. You can buy electrical contact cleaner, remove the MAF and spray the sensor hotwires inside (jusy spray and let dry, dont touch it).

After cleaning the MAF, you can also disconnect the battery for a while to let the ECU reset. When you restart it might stumble a bit but as the settings adjust you'll settle back to a steady warmup idle.
