Does drain plug washer is really required to replace every oil change?

Once did, long ago. No fault of hand nor tool. Car was regularly, properly maintained & enjoyed. The plug just refused to let go one PMS day. The same day a ready Fumoto went in....still on.
The casa-TLC'd, I've had a few overfill encounters....Fumoto allows effortless correction.[emoji4]
