Baka masira ang common rail nozzles dahil napaka liit ng spray holes nito compared to the older designed nozzles.
Guys, your comments pls on this. 2T seems not good for CRDI's after all.
pero sa low pressure crdis pwede as per dvldoc.. backread ka dito sa thread. around 2007 model crdi ang boundary. walang problem kung conventional diesels except for some initial dirt accumulation sa filter which is manageable.
Sirs, Goodmorning.
Is it ok to add shell 2t oil sa 2009 Montero Di-d and 2005 Tucson Crdi? I will follow naman yung 1:200 ratio.
Medyo hesitant lang sirs since may mga nagka problem.
Thanks.
Cost me P140/liter for an FC rated green colored 2T oil c/o PTT. Not bad! Will check if it makes any difference compared to Shell's FB rated gold colored 2T at P120/liter.
Good day sirs. Read through the entire post (back read some portions 3 times, hehe) and I am about ready to take the plunge and try if 2t will do some good for my high mileage diesel engine (my ride by the way is a local gen 1 pajero, 4d56 non-turbo, 300k plus on the odo). But before I do bite the bullet, summarize ko lang uli:
1. Any 2t will do except synthetic (might go for shell with decarbonizer)
2. Stick to recommended ratio of 50ml 2t for every 10ltrs of diesel (not sure yet ano max capacity ng tank, haven't had a full tank yet since acquiring it last feb 2012)
3. No compatibility issues even if I mix shell 2t with petron diesel max (been using it kasi since I got the paj)
4. Fully reversible if I do decide to stop using it in the future (2-3 tanks cycle without the 2t)
5. Possibility of increased smoke from the tailpipe on first use due to start of cleaning action (the paj is relatively smoke free; kapapalit ko din ng fuel filter kasabay ng change oil/oil filter)
6. Not expected to increase power but will simply lubricate the injection pump
7. Expected to make the engine run smoother/quieter and lessen, if not eliminate shut off shudder (engine is indeed noisy, you can hear it coming from a km away, hahaha)
8. Might improve fuel consumption, although not guaranteed (I think my engine is currently ranging between 4-5 kms/ltr, uhaw masyado)
9. Doesn't matter if lagay muna 2t bago fill up with diesel or vice versa
Did I miss anything? Or misunderstood anything?
Also, I do believe it hasn't been mentioned in the thread (or I may have missed it), just some follow up clarifications:
1. Would adding 2t possibly address fuel knock (the mechanic who serviced the paj during change oil/filters mentioned something about my engine showing signs of this)?
2. Would it matter if the breather hose is no longer connected to the intake tube (mine has this set up, d na naka connect, extended hose na lang from breather to wherever it exits under the vehicle; haven't had the chance to install an OCC)?
Finally, asked three mechanics about putting 2t, they haven't heard about it and skeptical to say the least. Am hoping the facts and experiences so generously shared in this thread would show in my ride as well.
Some more encouragement would definitely be welcomed!

My cousin who started using 2T on their 90's hi-lux reported that the fuel gauge that was not working for several years suddenly worked after just using itguess 2T could be used in solving fuel gauge problems before having to repair anything hehe
4-5 kms per liter, sounds pretty low, The 2T will definetly help clean your nozzles and lube your injection pump, which could be one of the problems for your low fuel economy. My Elgrand gets like 11km per liter hwy and 9km per liter city. I would see about getting your ride tuned.
Hi dvldoc. Was hoping you would read my post. Anyway, did I understand everything about the process correctly? Already bought the shell 2t with decarbonizer but haven't used it yet. Had a full tank over the weekend and wanted to measure FC first without the 2t so I will have a solid benchmark when I do start using it.
By the way, the 4-5 kms/ltr is still an unsupported guess as of the moment since I haven't had the chance to measure it from full tank. Will know by the end of the week after I top up again.
So, back to the questions I left on the post: will fuel knock possibly be addressed? Do I have to re install the breather hose to the intake tube?
Fuel knock is normally from a dirty nozzle this is something the 2T can help with for sure. It's also caused by a poor performing injector pump. Older engines do not like ULSD fuel.
Ok. Thanks for the reply. Will post updates here once I start with the 2t.
Sirs yapoy86 and bors, thanks as well.
now on my second full tank of diesel with 400ml of Shell 2T with decarbonizer and Shell diesel lang. 1st full tank was with Sea Oil bio-diesel with 400ml of Shell 2t with decarbonizer, no issues. Smoother yung takbo ng engine after mga half mark ng tank and lesser "shaking action" pag off ng makina.
anyone here decrease the ratio of 2T from standard 200:1 since we still have Euro II diesel unlike in US which is already ULSD?
In my observation too much 2T lessen the performance of the engine just a little, from not following standard ratio my usual mix i just dump a bottle of 2T every refill of diesel![]()
^parang ganun din sa akin pero mahirap pa rin iconclude. if ever tama nga, baka masyado na viscous yung fuel at hirap nang iatomize ng injectors. kaya stay at 200:1 hanggat maaari.
been testing with different 2t - diesel mix since 10.17.11. , i find petron 2t + petron diesel to be most compatible(best feel on ride and shutdown) for my kia 1st gen kr2 2.0l diesel. and.... i used to have this tach gauge problem (sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt hehe). the tach is now working real time ever since i mixed 2t on diesel.
