good day!
based on the info i've read on this thread, i started adding 2T oil to our 2003 mitsubishi adventure SS. i always gas up caltex diesel due to convenience, so i tried adding Havoline 2T to our ride. here are my initial observations:
1. no difference in pulling power or response (after 2 full tanks)
2. dark smoke was obvious when pressing hard on the accelerator during overtaking.
3. shut off shudder was "somehow" lessened.
4. engine noise at idle remains the same.
5. idle speed remains the same.
6. FC remains the same.
practically no difference was felt using 2T oil.
then i switched to Petron diesel max, and was surprised to the following:
1. engine sound at idle was a "little" bit quieter.
2. throttle response was greatly improved, as well as acceleration.
3. shut off shudder was lessened further.
4. smoke was visibly reduced to almost nil even on overtaking situations.
5. idle speed remains the same.
6. FC remains the same.
i'm still observing the new mix of petron diesel max / havoline 2T. but i'm quite impressed by the initial response. i'm scheduled to have my timing belt replaced, and hopefully, the engine will run even quieter after replacing the belt and balancer bearings.
for now, i'll be continuing using this mix on our ride. thanks for the info guys.
