Hi Sir dieseldude I have another question about my fuel pump. whats the use of the adjuster screw that mechanics adjust if you fail the emission test? Is it for controlling the pressure or the amount of fuel being injected.

Hi Sir dieseldude I have another question about my fuel pump. What is your vehicle? Is your pump a VE type rotary pump?
whats the use of the adjuster screw that mechanics adjust if you fail the emission test? Which adjusting screw are you referring to?
Is it for controlling the pressure or the amount of fuel being injected.
The full load adjusting screw controls fuel output.
However, this screw should not be tampered with as it is an important calibration adjustment. This screw is sealed during calibration to prevent unauthorized tampering. Playing around with this screw/s will only throw your pump off calibration, and void pump warranty.
Black smoke can be caused by so many factors eg: a restricted air filter, faulty injectors, improper pump to engine timing, faulty pump calibration, faulty engine, etc.
Hey Guys,
I recently took some pictures of the following pumps being calibrated here at our workshop.
Will these pics interest you? I can post some.
- VP44 injection pump Nissan Patrol 2004
- EDC (electronic diesel control) injection pump for Benz E290 1999
- VE rotary pump for Isuzu 4JG2 1994
Sir, Would you know if there are nozzle tips available in the market for Rover's 200TDI? They only sell whole injectors and someone told me it is only the tips that are needed to be replaced to make it efficient again.
Thanks for the help

Rover 200TDIs use two types of injectors, depending on the year model. Bosch has nozzles and service parts for both types, and you don't have to replace the whole injector.
Most common we see here are the '96 to '98 Rovers, which use the 2.5L 6 cyl. BMW turbodiesel. Do you have the same car?
See copy attached pics of an Isuzu 4JG2 VE rotary injection pump, and it's various accessories.

I do hope these pictures help you. And if you have any questions, just ask.
Bye,
