hi sir dieseldude!
Can you explain po further? because recently I had my EGR cleaned in the casa for the reason that I'm experiencing some unusual behavior in the engines performance...after the EGR was cleaned and the SCV was opened para pasingawin there was a significant change and it was like newly driven out from the showroom again..... Your EGR was probably stuck open, and continuously bypassing exhaust gasses back to the engine's air intake system. A good EGR should do this only at low idle and part load driving conditions; and it should close the bypass at high load conditions. Engines need large amounts of oxygen-rich air for efficient combustion. Exhaust gasses have very low oxygen content........ therefore, poor combustion and low power output.
and further more the SA told me that the cleaning of the EGR is about to be included na daw po in the SOP's of the PMS and its not gonna be a case to case basis anymore like only when an owner experiences unusual engine behavior only then the cleaning of the EGR shall be done.... So I was really wondering po when you posted your statement...I didn't know this; thank you for posting this info. Btw, what's your car, and how much did they bill you for EGR cleaning?
Including EGR service as SOP may be good as long as the additional service charges are reasonable. Most people believe in this saying: Don't fix something that ain't broke."
I'm glad that casa did a good job in cleaning your EGR.
Many thanks!![]()
