I'm not a racer naman or anything, I just use my car for work and some gimiks but madalang naman yung mahabang byahe, usually, work-home lang everyday. Are shell/petron oils ok or better ba if mga RP ang gamitin? I mean, if RP ba ang gamitin, mas tatagal pa than 5000kms ang next change oil?

Kung RP/Motul ang sagot nyo (which I bet is more expensive than gas station oils) isa pang question, what if gamitan ko ng kalahating RP/Motul tapos kalahating gas station oil para mas mura...ok ba yon???

you cant maximize the effect of the better oil.

konti lang naman po ang difference.

RP will last 10k kms or a year. if having to go to the shop less and using the better oil is more important for you then it's worth it. if not then just stick to what you're doing now.

    don't mix the oils.

actually you don't need to buy, all you have to do is have your car serviced at any gas station then when it comes to oil filter, just tighten it by hand (some use sand paper but i preferred rubber (interior) or lobo / balloon - and you will no longer need that oil filter wrench next time tipid diba?

same thing with fuel filter - hand tighten lang rin. tried and tested na yan - sa lakas ng vibration ng 4ja-1 but if you still like to have one vlad is right dami sa mga DIY shops, ACE, HANDYMAN, BLADE.

just tried it once lang kasi wala talaga budget. binutas ko yung old oil filter ng screw driver then ikot. hehehe

    hand tight lang yung bago.

thanks a lot to everyone who replied. doubtful of the hands-only technique but will try it. if it fails, will try ace hardware.

If you can, use 5w30 or 10w30 energy conserving oil on your next oil change. I recommend Royal Purple. It gave me better FC compared to Caltex Havoline Energy.
hello guys, kung walang leak or hindi naghalo yung oil and water san kaya napunta yung oil?cause i also have same experience using shell`s oil.

ingat sa pagbutas ng oil filter before twisting it off. minsan nasisira yung kinakapitan ng filter because of the impact of punching the hole.

erick_214, i'll need a sample of the oil filter before i can let you know how much it is... the oil is 500/qt so x7 mo nalang yun. the labor for the oil change is normally 200 lang unless double oil filter sya in which case it's slightly more. bale add the price of the filter nalang to the total

H1Tman, i'm not sure it will... depends din on the engine but if there are no leaks then it's possible that your engine is eating some oil na.

magister, you're probably better off with the 5w30 oil. i doubt even casa carries the 5w20 which is what they say to use on the new eclipse, gas pajero, etc... that oil is 500/qt.
