may sticker po dyan sa engine with oil grade ranges and oil classification. ex: 5w30, API/ACEA: SG

Alternatively you can check your owner's manual. Malamang may nakalagay doon.
Most engines don't have a problem with 5W-40 viscosity oil though.

Mas malapot yung 5W-40 oil kapag mainit.
"5W-40" is a viscosity rating. The higher the number, the thicker the oil. The "W" means "Winter" so that's the viscosity of the oil when the engine is cold; the other number is the oil's "hot" viscosity.
More viscous oil gives your engine more protection, but at the expense of some fuel economy. Conversely, less viscous oil gives less protection but helps fuel economy.
Maghanap ka na lang ng 5W-30 oil, I imagine your big V6 might guzzle marginally more fuel if you did use 5W-40 oil. Technically there should be no other problems in using it though.

diesel po ba or gas ang engine ng sportrac nyo?
meron kasi din ata 5W-40 grade for both gas and diesel type engines

Ang 5w40 ay maganda, kung araw-araw mong ginagamit ang sasakyan mo at idinadaan mo sa maruming kapaligiran o maalikabok na daan. Ang 5w30 ay standard, kung hindi laspag sa iyo ang sasakyan mo at sa malinis na kapaligiran ka parating dumadaan, grabe! parang tinagalog ko lang iyong nasa ford vehicle manual mo.
