I think kaya sa primera. hehe
No sir, madalas ako mag park dun... hindi naman ako alangan kasi makitid naman ang width ng avanza kaya madali lang i mani obra dun sa kurbada sa taas... the way i handled the situation i think is the problemmedyo natipid ang pag rev and i forgot to engaged the handbrake h[COLOR=Blue]e he he...
so change na natin ang thread title into...driver cannot climb steep road![]()
Pag naka M/T, its power management. sa flat roads, OK na mag shift at 2,000 RPM, pero sa mga inclines, pag bumababa na ng 2500, better down shift para di mabitin.
My company is a Toyota country so all our cars/suv/mpv are Toyota! We also have steep level parking at the office.
Iisa lang ang reklamo ng mga co-employees ko na kumuha ng 1.3J Avanza mahina humatak kahit sa even roads and much more sa uphills. You will need to rev higher prior to steep roads otherwise you'll stall.
Kahit low fuel na ang tank dapat di ito issue, dahil pag uphills all the fuel will go to the rear portion of the tank which is where the fuel feeder line was. Kung downhill issue ang low fuel sa Avanza, Innova, Fortuner and Hi-lux kasi lahat ng fuel pupunta sa front portion.
kulang 2k for that incline though i dont believe that is a 45 deg climb. I have encountered enough 45 degree climb (all you see is the sky) and descent (oops no road down) off road to know that in normal parking lots it would wreck havoc to your car's mid-part and underchassis.

Sir, I'm a newbie in the forum, but I thought of sharing my situation which happens to be similar to that of the thread starter's.
I drive a 2002 Diesel Mitsubishi Adventure Super Sport. I have observed that for the two times that we have driven to the steep roads of Tagaytay and Batangas (Tagaytay Highlands and Punta Fuego in Nasugbu), my Adventure encounters this difficulty in climbing steep trails. During these climbs, the car encounters difficulty on the 2nd gear so I'm forced to use the 1st gear until we reach the top. I don't know if the Adventure has a problem with the engine or it's just a normal occurrence among cars like these. BTW, the car doesn't encounter any engine and transmission problems on flat roads, but on steep ones, this has been the second time that I've gone through this. May sira ho ba ang kotse ko o baka naman ako lang ang may problema? Inputs naman po mga sirs and thanks in advance!
kung hindi naman driver error you can check:
1. electricals
2. fuel lines
mahirap talaga ang pa-akyat lalo na kung sanay ka sa flat roads... no pun intended but most of the time eh the problem comes from driving style. secondary na yung makina - in the case of pjkhyra - tama ang mga naging suggestions ng fellow tsikoteers natin. he should have not been timid in stepping on the gas and rev the engine hard (pero syempre not too hard naman). we were in baguio last week of March and may similar experience ako had to climb a steep road (45deg din siguro more or less, maybe more... langit na yung nakikita ko eh) and at almost stand still naka inclined na. shifted to 1st-gear revved up the engine to 3.5k before releasing the clutch and there was no letting off the accelerator after that, mga 200meters na ahunan din give or take. btw... my ride is a terrano with z24 gas engine with 4wd option pero that time naka 2wd lang ako. we're 4 adults and 1 child - kaso parang 6 adults din kasi katumbas ng weight ko tatlo. hehehe.
remember to always:
slowly depress the clutch otherwise the engine WILL stall..
note: don't be afraid to rev the engine.. rev the nuts off of the 1.3 liter..joke.. rev it past 2K RPM
