do not pay more than 40,000 . hinahanap ko yung thread ng overhaul ng 4d56 di ko makita, medyo na tackle na itong issue na ito before kasi... you can do a search if you like...
maybe you can buy the 4d56 turbo intake manifold, turbo pistons, turbo, wastegate, and intercooler as a worthwhile upgrade hanggat nakababa yung makina?

Sus!!! 324,000 plus kms na pala eh sulit na yan. 3x naputulan ng belt eh are you following the recommended 80,000 to 100,000 belt replacement? It seems the only time you will change the belt is when it breaks. Voltscastillo is right, good thing you didn't break anything especially your valve lifters during these belt breakage.

Nag overheat ba yung makina?
Did the previous top overhaul follow the right sequence, stages and torque requirements?
Aluminum ang cylinder head ng 4d56 kaya maselan.

It happened to me once. Naputulan ako timing belt not because na overuse cya. naputol yung balancer belt nya and bumara sa timing belt kaya nag snap buti na lng it happened at slow speed. what i noticed sa design ng later 4D56 the one fitted roller rocker arms is that these RRAs do snap easily. I think this was a safety factor made by the designers to save us from costly repairs of a valve interference pag naputulan ng belt. instead of causing a bent valve or mabutas ang piston, the RRA just breaks para bang fuse sa electrical, it bursts pag may short to avoid further damage. you just have to replace the damaged rocker arm and you are good to go again no need to dismantle the cylinder head. its better than the older type rocker arms nila.

baka mali yung settings ng timing mo, kasi it's either tumatalon yung timing belt at nadudulas yung ngipin, or mali yung install. kaya your 4d56 engine chews up a lot of belts. check mo din yung main pulley ng engine mo for the timing belt, sa pajero ko kasi square yung ngipin dati, tas yung ibang pulley round. so you need rounded teeth timing belts for round teeth pulleys, and square teeth belts for square teeth pulleys. else dudulas at tatalon yung timing belt.
after overhaul, have the engine checked by a mitsu engine expert. baka kasi all this time you've been running on wrong timing settings.

324000kms divide by 3
is
108000kms.
Every 80,000kms dapat palit ng timing belt, kaya pala. Me kapitbahay
ako nissan sentra eccs 370,000kms odo maganda pa, headlights, shocks
and auxillary fans pa lang napalitan.
Last edited by mark_t; March 22nd, 2009 at 02:27 AM.
