May 25th, 2013 08:25 PM #1The plan.
With this project, the carb is not going to be modified in any extent so it could be used normally.
Upon starting engine normal fuel line is used. When the exhaust temp reached the desired number, the fuel valve is closed and the vaporizer valve is opened.
the Vaporizer spray is electronically controlled and based on the car speed it will be increased/decreased.
The vaporizer box will be made of galvanized iron with air filter hole and gas exhaust hole going to the carb air intake.

If we go according with your plan, your engine will just consume just as much fuel as without your modification.
What you are trying to achieve is a lean burn engine. You will need to adjust the ignition timing and potentially the compression ratio too.
There has been other "vapor" style mods done before and those didn't achieve any better than a typical EFI engine can.

May 26th, 2013 06:02 PM #3thanks for the comment.
i think adding a spray of water would cool the pistons no?
i'll be doing this since wla namang mawawala tska mahilig lang talaga ako mag kutingting.
if it does not work then so be it.

Water spray (in the intake) will not do much to cool the pistons. It would affect the burn of the air-fuel mixture though with potential marginal increase of power. But with only normal aspirated engines, the power gains is very small. With too much water, it would just cause rust inside the cylinders.
If you want to cool the pistons more effectively, spraying oil from the crank side of the pistons and adding an engine oil radiator would be more effective.
If you want to produce a lean burn engine, you will need to increase the compression ratio, adjust the ignition and maybe also change the piston head shape too (shape of the piston quench also shapes the flame's shape & propagation).Last edited by ghosthunter; May 28th, 2013 at 09:12 PM.
