1.reflector housing + halogen bulb= optimum light output and correct angle of dispersion = (lighted road without glare)
2.projector housing + hid bulb= maximum light output and correct cut off with accurate light distribution = (very well lighted road without glare)

3.reflector housing + hid bulb= decreased light output and incorrect light pattern with unwanted light on wrong areas= less visibility on the road, hard on eyes, more glare, worse than stock lighting.

*the light focus of the hid is different from that of the halogen, kaya pag nilagay mu sa reflector housing kung saan saan pupunta ang light...
*the design of the reflector housing was crafted that the light source will be halogen in nature, kaya pag HID ginamit mu mas malakas ang glare dahil yung mga angles sa reflector housing mu ay hindi kaya i-harness yung extra light output(lumens) that are being given by your hid bulb..
*light output will be worse kahit lagyan mu pa ng DIY na shield, pag nag upgrade tayo our goal is to make things better, not worse.
*good halogen bulbs(philips/osram)stock reflector housing will beat any hid placed of reflector housings...

    Again, sorry ha...

This is what I'm thinking... If you can't even figure out on your own how to secure the HID bulb, how else can you figure out how to install a light shield?

Save yourself the hassle and go back to stock lighting.

Curious lang ako. Ano ba problem ng stock lighting set-up mo at gusto mong palitan?

    Either:
    1. Upgrade to a better H4 bulb (i.e. Philips Xtreme Vision, Osram Nightbreakers, etc.)
    2. Go for a projector retrofit.

If the bulb you put in is loosely mounted, it might cause an electrical short later on or have a shorter life. H4 housings also don't work too well with HID bulbs from what i know. MAs panget yung buga and nakakasilaw.

What car is that for BTW?

everyone has stock lighting, that's why. there is the dream to be different...
unfortunately, i see very, very few HIDs with proper reflectors... the vast majority of them are plain "buwisit".

.... well, that's the hate of Tsikoteers I'm one of the first who read this thread but refrained from posting nalang at first.

What you're looking for is the appropriate ballast for it. "HID kits" usually comes with a bulb AND a ballast so if you simply bought the bulb, wag ka na tumipid and purchase the ballast.

But with all due seriousness, even if you have a glare shield. It will only bar the direct output throw.. which is counter-intuitive in a lighting scenario is because you want it as far as you can go (if not, we'll all be driving with our fogs which has a very short throw lang). Not to mention that glare isn't just the direct scattering of light but also the surrounding areas -- the roads, puddles, etc. these will REFLECT the glare.

What I simply suggest is use better halogen lights.. like Osram Nightbreakers as direct replacements for stock lighting.
