jumper lang yan i-parallel lang ang baterya. dami pang procedure na positive muna, negative naman sa ground dapat. etc...

Sa mga matatandang mekaniko ko na nga lang narinig 'yang SERIES na 'yan.
Noong High School years ko, natanong ko sa matandang mekaniko namin
"Tatang, bakit po pag nagja- jumper kayo sa baterya eh sinasabi niyong I- SERIES MO NGA 'YUNG BATERYA?
Ang tamang tawag po kasi sa ganyang koneksyon e PARALLEL."
Sinagot niya naman ako ng tanong rin:
"O e di ba pag ikakabit, sa ingles eh SERIES?"
Sa tanong pa lang niya, nakuha ko na ang sagot sa tanong ko. Napa- ngiti na lang ako...

July 11th, 2013 06:35 PM #27Strictly speaking, it is a series connection because only a single load(car to be jumped) is connected to the single source(battery). Electron flow during jump start only occurs in a single loop. Yes, the batteries will be connected in parallel(source to source) but the car would be in series with the battery(or batteries in parallel).

Bridging negative first could pose great chances of positive accidentally touching the negative since the surroundings(car chassis) is already electrically negative.
Same safety practice for -48VDC Datacom/Telecom setup, but it uses negative as the "hot" wire (chassis being positive).
